Jenny SThe night train from Nong khai (near Laos border) to Bangkok airport (Don Muang) was on time. It's clean and safe. The staff was also really nice. It is really a good option, more confortable than thé bus.

The trip was great, state rail Thailand looked after us well. The only downside was that (for 2nd class sleeper, AC) the aisle lights in the carriage were kept on the whole night.
Next time I'd take a mask to help block the light.

Laura HI slept well, the bed was fine, bathrooms were fine. Sink area was cluttered by big bags for the beginning of the journey, which made it hard to use them. The area under my bed also had dirty linen, so much that I had to clear it out to have space for my luggage. Otherwise my only complaint was that I wanted to sit talking with a friend without disturbing sleeping people, and even though the restaurant wagon was empty except for us, they would not want us sitting there without buying things and we did not need to eat at 10pm.
