Most people will be more than happy spending their time relaxing on the beaches [in and around Nha Trang](/en/vietnam/nha-trang] but if you're staying for a longer period of time you might want to head out on a tour to see the surrounding country or villages or trips out to sea to take advantage of the excellent diving.

Diving

There are tons of dive shops throughout Nha Trang all offering trips to reefs off the nearby islands, although if diving is one of your main reasons to visit it's worth planning ahead as [the seas can be rough between October–December](/en/vietnam/weather] with only a few sites available.

One of the most popular diving companies is Vietnam Active (115 Hung Vuong, open 7am–9pm), which offers both introductory dives as well as certification courses. The prices usually depend on the numbers in your group but you can expect to pay around USD65 for two dives. They also offer snorkelling trips as well as other adventure sports such as mountain biking, rafting and kayaking.

Rainbow Divers (19 Biet Thu, open 6am–10p,) is one of the most famous diving companies in Nha Trang, you'll see the name everywhere. They offer the full range of PADI courses, including advanced and instructor courses. Of course, beginners are well catered for here as well, dives start from around USD80 and your instructor will make sure you're comfortable before you head into the water. Another popular company is Nha Trang Sea Star (64B/13 Tran Phu, open 7am–10pm). Many choose this company to take longer PADI courses, which start from around USD275, as accommodation is included. They use high quality equipment, something which sadly can't be said for every company in Nha Trang, with 2 dives priced at USD70 for beginners and USD60 for certified divers.
