Taxi drivers strike at Chiang Mai Airport

Strike of the meter taxi company continues at Chiang Mai International Airport since last Thursday. Taxi drivers oppose the 26% rise in monthly parking fees starting in October.


Strike of the meter taxi company continues at Chiang Mai International Airport since last Thursday. Taxi drivers oppose the 26% rise in monthly parking fees starting in October.

According protest leader report, drivers were already affected by fuel prices increase and are not able to pay 7,500 baht instead of 9,500 baht per month. The strikers are ready to continue the protest during 4 days more as a minimum.   

While the taxi parking zone at the Airport is empty, Chiang Mai Airport Direction is looking for another meter taxi company instead of protesting Nakhon Lanna Cooperative.
