Dawei Myanmar – Best Value Hotels and Guesthouses

As with many towns in Myanmar, you will mostly find a high concentration of mid range accommodation in Dawei although a few budget and upscale options do exist. Unlike many other parts of the country however, Dawei’s proximity to the sea allows you to opt to stay in a beach front bungalow although make sure to book in advance to avoid disappointment, especially during the high season from November to March.

General recommendations

You should also note that there is usually quite a jump in accommodation standards in Dawei according to how much you pay. As such, it can often be more cost effective to pay slightly more for a room, such as USD 40 per night instead of USD 20 as you are likely to find more modern and cleaner accommodation. Mid range rooms also usually come with bars, air conditioning, hot water and satellite television as standard whereas a budget room will usually have a shared bathroom with cold water and a fan.

As such, especially if you are travelling as part of a group, you may want to plump for a mid range option in Dawei. You will also need to decide if you want to stay in town or opt for a beachside location.
