Trip was excellent except for the boarding point confusion. You have to trust Google maps. See the photo of the street. As Nara travel is inside a Hotel. Very well behaved drivers n the tour guide

The information given is correct, when we checked in at the ticket office they offered us to take the bus half an hour earlier. The bus stopped around 21:00 for dinner (food was not enough but we only had to pay for drinks) and inside the bus you had a kit with water, juice and a bun. Also a blanket. Arrived in Krabi an hour later than planned.

The VIP bus was comfortable and we had a lot of room for our legs and even bags. We got a blanket, a snack and water. They asked us in the beginning, where we want to get dropped off, so maybe you can tell them a closer location to your destination and you can get off earlier. We left punctual at 7pm and arrived 12 hours later in Krabi. We felt safe during the trip and we still made sure that our valuables are not in our luggage but in our bags with us. It can get confusing at the terminal in Bangkok because there are many buses and you don't really know, which one you have to take. So we just asked people there and they showed us the right bus. We made one stop at 10.30pm to get food and we didn't get any information in English. But we figured out where to get the dinner that's included in the price and that the break was 20 minutes. The overall experience was good, the sleep we got not so much, but that's part of it :)

The ride from Bangkok to Krabi was great. We made a stop at 10pm for dinner (free of charge), where you could also buy snacks and drinks for the journey. The bus was clean, we got water, juice, a blanket and bread. I was able to sleep well as you could recline the seats backwards & it was almost like a bed. We left on time, but we were stuck in traffic for a while, which wasn't too bad. I would book this bus again and again & can only recommend it. I didn't use the toilet on the bus.

the trip was nice but they try to overcharge for a leg of the trip I didn't request for. I bought the ticket to Krabi and after I got to surat thani, for the connection, the lady asked where I would go after Krabi and simply told me to pay her 250 for this final leg of the trip. I didn't request this service, didn't ask how much it was, and even after I said "no", she said "then how do you go?". be careful with scams.

First of all, lovely trip. Can absolutely recommend. BUT the Southern Bus Terminal in Bangkok is the worst for foreigners. We had to ask tons of people because we couldn’t navigate at all. No exact info about the Bus Terminal (there’s two!!) Once we reached the bus, with help ofc, we enjoyed the smoothest, most comfortable bus ride ever. We had a bit of a delay (2hr) but nothing we didn’t expect. Lots of space for our legs (book the seats at the end!) and even a water bottle + a few snacks. Would absolutely do the same over again, with a knowledge of the right bus terminal :P Oh and don’t forget a sweater cause the ac in Asia is crazy cold. You do get a lil blanket tho.

Travelling by bus essentials

  • If you are planning to travel during the high season, weekends, or national holidays, booking your bus tickets in advance is highly recommended. The demand is at its highest, yet very often, the number of coaches serving the route remains the same. The earlier you reserve your seat, the better. On some routes, you need to secure your ticket more than a month in advance; on others, a couple-of-days advanced booking is enough. During such periods, try to book online beforehand whenever possible, as showing up at the bus station without a ticket may result in many-hours of waiting in the queue or leave you downright stranded.
  • VIP, 1st, Gold, and similar bus tickets are the most expensive option, but they provide a higher level of comfort. Normally the price of such tickets will include wide soft reclining seats, blankets, water and snacks or lunch, and sometimes some toiletries. Upper-class buses travel faster, make fewer stops during the route, and normally provide more spacious seating to their passengers and a better travel experience.
  • Not all buses have an on-board toilet, but generally, for all trips longer than three hours, all operators schedule a bathroom and/or a lunch stop. While operators definitely do their best to keep on-board toilets clean, the smell may be an issue sometimes. For longer trips, booking a seat a bit farther from the toilet may be a good idea. Also, using bathroom stops for your toilet needs is always better than trying to find your balance in an on-board toilet on the run.
  • If you travel by an air-con bus, make sure to pack layers. A hoodie, a warm scarf, or a beanie hat may prove a good idea. Air-conditioning on buses tends to be excessive, and running nose and sore throats abound after even not the longest bus rides.
  • Always use the security belts even if your bus ride attendant or driver does not insist on it. Your safety comes first – for you, for sure. All buses normally are equipped with security belts, but they may be fixed behind your seat. Take time to find the belt and fix it appropriately.
  • To avoid being disturbed by overhead lights, switched on during stops even at night, and too loud music or sound from the on-board entertainment system, have earplugs and a sleeping mask at hand.
  • As a courtesy to other passengers, avoid using strong perfumes or smelly foods. Some foods like cheeses or durians are forbidden to take on-board – check in advance. Alcohol is also prohibited on the majority of buses.
  • Note that if the bus requires refuelling en-route, passengers will be asked to get off the bus. Operators are not allowed to refuel with passengers on board due to safety reasons. Usually, it takes from 5 to 10 minutes and is often combined with a toilet/lunch stop.
  • If not stated otherwise in your tickets, arrive at the bus station 20-30 minutes before departure. It will give you enough time to find the departure platform and check-in. For international trips, you may need more time for check-in and border formalities.
