While obviously not the cheapest way to get around or move between intercity destinations, a taxi trip is a great way for those who do not like restrictions of fixed schedules and routes. With taxis offering convenient and customized door-to-door service, it is easy to tailor-make your trip by adding the extras you need – for example, a car seat. Normally you can choose a car of a certain class or a bigger vehicle to accommodate your party. To ensure you will get the best service, do negotiate in advance if you need to call several places enroute or make additional stops for meals or sightseeing.
Tuktukdude Leisure operates a fleet of taxis that can be easily booked online. Before you go, read other travellers’ reviews – they will help understand what to expect from your ride.

Tuktukdude Leisure Top Destinations
The nice thing about taxis is that they do not follow the fixed routes but bring you wherever you need to go. Yet according to the operator statistics, many travellers order Tuktukdude Leisure’s taxis to travel the following routes:
Tuktukdude Leisure’s fleet consists of cars of different classes and sizes. Choose the one which suits you best and meets your requirements for comfort and the number of passengers. It pays to check rates for all classes the operator offers as sometimes the difference between standard and comfort classes is insignificant, yet if you opt for a higher class, you can travel with much more convenience, legroom, and luggage space just paying extra very little. It is especially true for
vans as often there are good discounts on these vehicles which allow you to enjoy a more comfortable ride.
Travel by Taxi: Pros & Cons
Pros of Taxi Travel
Travelling by taxi allows you to avoid crowded bus terminals
and train stations and keep social distancing which is a good point for those on alert to the pandemic challenges.
With a taxi, you have complete flexibility – depart when it is more convenient for you, plan enroute stops for rest or meals, and choose the route you want – not necessarily the shortest one. Yet do remember that it is better to discuss all these points with the operator before your trip to
allow them to calculate the cost which will include all add-ons. Otherwise, the final bill can be an unpleasant surprise.
Taxis can bring you to destinations that are not served by any other means of public transport. The most remote villages and locations where no buses or trains bring you can be reached by taxi. The good point is to remember that it is sometimes pays to book a round trip to and from such destinations as it can be challenging to find return transport without prior booking.
Cons of Taxi Travel
Cost is the major drawback of a taxi ride. You will definitely end up paying more for a taxi than for a bus or train journey, but it is quite natural that private service does come at a price, so be ready to shell out.
Also be ready to pay more for any detours or extra stops not included into the calculation of your fare. Normally the price shown in search results is the net price for the ride from point A to B. To avoid disappointment, remember to mention all your requirements to the trip before you book. Otherwise, your car may be assigned for the next trip, and the driver will not be able to follow your immediate requests.
Music or just talkative taxi drivers can be a problem – politely insist on switching off the music if you do not feel like listening to it and do not hesitate to tell the driver you are not inclined to keep up the conversation.
Taxi drivers are notorious for their love to use strange routes or minor roads which – as
they may think – allow them to beat traffic jams or escape bad roads. If you follow your trip route on Google Maps, it can be quite disturbing to see you deviate from Google’s recommendations.

Tuktukdude Leisure Company Reviews

I had an extremely disappointing experience earlier in the week with an operator called Real Lanka Holidays. On Monday 13th me and a friend drove to Adam’s peak with them from Hiriketiya, we then confirmed with someone from the company and the driver who took us that he was going to take us back. I woke up for the hike to confused messages that the trip had been cancelled. When we spoke to someone on the phone they said that they couldn’t justify the trip back to Hiriketiya as they would lose money. It didn’t seem to matter that the driver had agreed to drive us by the time we went to sleep and they refused to give us a new price. We got a new car for just €10 more than the cost of our original journey so we feel like they chose a different driver because they charged more money for the holiday.
This experience was the opposite. I received a message well in advance saying that I was the only passenger and had two options: receive a refund or pay $30 extra. The company was far more professional for this journey and was so happy that I avoided another stressful situation trying to find another way to my destination. Unlike the other operator I felt like Tuktukdude actually cared whether I got to my destination

The driver came too late and the there was no seat anymore left. They organized an extra driver just for me which was perfect but we left 1 1/2 hours later.

A timid driver, who turned up late and was making phone calls all the time. Had to complain. No washroom-stop, no receipt for the extra-paid money, no help with my heavy luggage. Never again.

Since there is not much choice to go from Ella to Galle, I was lucky to find your service. I was expecting a van but Prius came to pick me up as there were only one another passenger, however, overall it was comfortable journey and quite satisfying.

Amazing day trip with a brilliant driver and each tour guide throughout the day was excellent, would highly recommend this trip to anyone.
The driver was great but to charge me 50USD more than agreed because of the fact that I was the only passenger was unprofessional by 12go. Also the first-class Support which I also booked before (and paid) played no role. If I were 12go I would simply payback the additional amount I had to cover. Instead of that, there are long discussion about who is right and who has to cover. I am not treated as a customer by your company!
