About PP Service

The two principal things which make travelling by van so attractive are a wide choice of destinations and affordable prices. Not all vans offer top comfort, enough legroom, or luggage space, but these two points compensate. Besides, it is always vans that launch new routes to emerging destinations paving the road to big bus operators if necessary or remaining the only means of transport to bring you there. Very often, vans offer faster service than big buses, more flexible timetable, and more readily adapt to travellers’ needs in the sense of schedule – if there is a temporary growth in demand due to long weekends or national holidays, vans add more vehicles to their daily fleet easier than other operators. Note though that sometimes vans operate from their own van stations or terminals or have a dedicated section in bigger bus terminals. Always check your van's departure and arrival point as it is not necessarily located at the main bus station.

PP Service is one of the operators to check if you are going to travel by van. They provide reliable van service and offer tickets with easy and secure online booking.

PP Service Ticket Prices & Van Classes

Opposite to trains or bigger buses, vans rarely offer you a choice of ticket class. All the seats are the same – call it standard, VIP, or whatever. What can differ, though, is the type of the van itself. Some vans seat only 9-10 passengers. For travellers this means wider seats, more space, and a more comfortable trip. Vans which accommodate up to 15 passengers are also ok but be ready to sacrifice on space for your legs and elbows and very often – for your luggage, too. Sometimes it can be a good idea to buy two seats instead of one to ensure a more comfortable ride – yet it pays to check with the operator if they allow this on your route. Before you book your van ticket, read reviews on PP Service van service to see what to expect.

Travel by Van: Pros & Cons

Pros of VanTravel

  • Vans can be the only way to reach some of the most remote destinations, smaller towns or villages which are connected neither by big buses nor trains.
  • Vans can also take you to some islands connected with the mainland by large car ferries which do not take big buses but take vans on board, too.
  • Due to a smaller size compared to big buses, vans are more maneuverable on the road. It sometimes results in shorter travel time, especially if your destination is not far away.
  • While vans do have an official stop enroute, they can also get you off at a more convenient point – no need to go to the terminal, just ask your driver. Note that it is not always possible, but in many cases, they will cooperate. It can save you both time and money you would have otherwise spent getting off the terminal on foot or by taxi.

Cons of Van Travel

  • Vans accommodating more passengers may feel quite cramped. Expect limited space for your legs and elbows. Some vans limit the luggage for one ticket to one piece. If you have more bags, suitcases, or backpacks, you may be asked to buy a separate ticket for your luggage, which makes the trip twice as expensive.
  • Not all vans run on schedule. On certain routes, vans leave only when full. Do check it with your operator before buying your ticket, otherwise, you may end up waiting much longer than expected until the van fills up.
  • If there are more reckless drivers on any other means of transport than on vans, we are unaware of it. Some companies install speed control units on their vehicles, but it is not a rare case to hear this unit beeping the whole trip through with the driver not paying attention to it. Always remember to buckle your seatbelt while travelling by van. Though sometimes you will need to make an investigation to find out where your seatbelt is.
  • For those prone to motion sickness there is a good piece of advice: take your medicine half an hour before your van trip, especially if your route includes winding stretches. You are more likely to feel motion sick travelling by van than by bus.

PP Service Company Reviews

“The driver was outstanding. He was friendly, considerate, and his driving was calm and reliable throughout. He even went out of his way to return the headphones I’d accidentally left in the car. A truly great experience – highly recommended.”

Beds were a bit short. If you’re smaller than 1,80m it should be good. Got orange juice in the beginning. Thought it was for free. We paid 100 Baht (could have asked). The AC was super super cold in the beginning but was way better through the night (no sweater was needed anymore). And they could dimm the light or switch it off while sleeping time. This was one major improvement point. Maybe 12.go should provide the tickets through pdf, would make it easier than to pick it up. But was cool to get to see another part of Bangkok. Overall it was an average experience.

We had a very comfortable journey. We travelled from Koh Phangan to the main land pier via a Seatran ship. It was big, spacious, beautiful views from the deck and balcony. Also because its a big boat if you have motion sickness you wont be affected by it much. We were then transferred from the pier to Surat Thani via a very comfortable bus followed by a van to our hotel. There is a break in between and we had some very tasty food made at the PP Service kitchen at very low cost. The staff were also very helpful and organised.

The Probleme was that the buss stoped mor the one time and de habe to change te vehicles. And in stop was just to sell other tickets to us, we have to PAYE for an other ticket for the boats and normally this was included in our 12go ticket. So we have to pay it agent :(

Thank you for the smooth travel, I felt well taken care of! I wish there was more information about the facilities of the ferry/bus and the stops on the way – I bought snacks in panic before the trip just to realise I could have enjoyed coffee and breakfast on the ferry, and there were two stops at restaurants during the bus ride where I could have ordered a proper meal. Also at Surat Thani it was a bit difficult to find the right bus.

They were great. Super smooth travel. They picked me out straight away from the crowd coming from Koh Phangan arriving to Surat Thani (Didn't need to think of which way do I need to go). Taken by bus and then a small mini bus. They took great care of me from the beginning to the end. And the man was so lovely at the bus change recommend

We had trip included (ferry - bus - van) everything was okay before we came to “bus” it was a minivan fully loaded with people with very bad AC. Trip in “bus” was about 2,5 hours but in those conditions it felt like 5.

took a transfer from phuket to ko samui. the trip was good, but it is worth mentioning that the route is different than the operator indicates. first you go to suratthani by minivan, then wait about 30-40 minutes and transfer to a large bus and go to donsak pier, and only then you are taken to the pier

*Arrived 2 hours late.* The ferry from Koh Phangan to Surat Thani was on time, but after that, things got confusing. I had to switch between *4 different buses*, with long waits in between—none of this was mentioned in the 12Go itinerary. It should be clearly stated to avoid confusion. The stops were unnecessary.

The driver from Surat Thani to Phuket airport got angry at a girl for wanting to check that her bag was in the car. He yelled at her and kept bringing it up as he was driving. He was driving at 130km per hour and on his phone. He also got angry when one passenger asked if he could go to the toilet. There was also an incident with a passenger lighting a cigarette at a petrol station. The passenger definitely did the wrong thing but again the driver became abusive by yelling at him. It was definitely a language barrier problem but the driver could get assistance with staying calm. His behaviour was not appropriate.

I booked a transfer from Phangan to Phuket Airport, and everything went perfectly! There were convenient stops along the way for food and restroom breaks. The transport was comfortable, with good air conditioning and cozy seats. A special mention to the driver – he was cheerful and had a great sense of humor, which made the trip even more enjoyable. I asked if we could arrive on time as per my ticket, and although he initially doubted it, we ended up arriving exactly on time, down to the minute! Huge thanks for that. Overall, everything was well-organized, smooth, and hassle-free. Highly recommend!
