Da Nang to Nha Trang Destination Reviews

SF
It was the first time that I travelled on a sleeper bus. It was a but uncomfortable for me to sleep ans move around as an European in a sleeper Vietnamese bus because of the measures. But it was great to be able to lay down and enjoy the sightseeing. The smell that came from the little toilet was something unexpected. And the drivers were bit rude. But overall it was OK the price paid.

Bad experience. Despite having all the correct information on the voucher, when we arrived at the station we were misled by the staff who made us get on the wrong bus. Soon after we left, they realized their mistake and kicked us off the bus on a very rude way, without even giving us time to put on our shoes. We returned to the starting point and caught the correct bus. This one took a different route than supposed and they didn't leave us at Nha Trang station, but rather in another place where a taxi took us to the city center. Very comfortable vehicle, just missing a toilet.

The driver stopped many times along the way to load luggage. The sanitary stop for tourists (toilet) was only once, while the driver and his assistant got out of the bus, "did their business" by the roadside and went on their way. Thus, without paying attention to the physiological needs of the passengers, they caught up with the time they lost while loading the goods and arrived at the destination point on time.

Didn’t get allocated seats, instead we were out at the back and somebody was sleeping in the aisle between us. Couldn’t sit up at all on the bottom but otherwise okay. It’s a budget form or transport and that’s certainly what you get so can’t really complain.

Pretty average. The driver was driving crazy compared to others. Constantly near rear ending people and swerving all over the road and tooting through the night. Did lots of pick ups and drop offs meaning rough corner heavy back roads were taken instead of nicer straighter toll road. People sleeping in the isle. No notification about stops. I’m 6.1 and the bed wasn’t long enough for me meaning my head was hard up against the corner of a frame on the wall making it pretty uncomfortable. was thrown around like a rag doll, probably better off wedging yourself on the floor like the locals

NOT THE BEST BE AWARE. The bus itself was really nice, but it was overloaded with some boxes so we had to sleep with all our beloningings which included 2 big backpacks. You could barely use the toilet as it was practically barricaded. The worst thing was that we didn't even reach our destination we were dropped off at some random gas station without explanation and had to get a taxi to make it to our next stop. The bus was used more as a delivery bus not for people, poor experience.

For now it was the best ride in Vietnam using sleeping bus. I mean that bus was comfy, staff was helpful and time of departure and arrival was on time.

No chance of sleep because the only street signal they use is honking. They drive like crazy people & smoked inside

No WC in the bus and only one toilet stop

The trip from Da Nang to Nha Trang was ok. The driver was honking all the time, which made sleeping very difficult. In addition, at one point a local was lying on the floor next to me and snoring incredibly loudly. All in all, the trip was ok.

Travelling by bus essentials

  • If you are planning to travel during the high season, weekends, or national holidays, booking your bus tickets in advance is highly recommended. The demand is at its highest, yet very often, the number of coaches serving the route remains the same. The earlier you reserve your seat, the better. On some routes, you need to secure your ticket more than a month in advance; on others, a couple-of-days advanced booking is enough. During such periods, try to book online beforehand whenever possible, as showing up at the bus station without a ticket may result in many-hours of waiting in the queue or leave you downright stranded.
  • VIP, 1st, Gold, and similar bus tickets are the most expensive option, but they provide a higher level of comfort. Normally the price of such tickets will include wide soft reclining seats, blankets, water and snacks or lunch, and sometimes some toiletries. Upper-class buses travel faster, make fewer stops during the route, and normally provide more spacious seating to their passengers and a better travel experience.
  • Not all buses have an on-board toilet, but generally, for all trips longer than three hours, all operators schedule a bathroom and/or a lunch stop. While operators definitely do their best to keep on-board toilets clean, the smell may be an issue sometimes. For longer trips, booking a seat a bit farther from the toilet may be a good idea. Also, using bathroom stops for your toilet needs is always better than trying to find your balance in an on-board toilet on the run.
  • If you travel by an air-con bus, make sure to pack layers. A hoodie, a warm scarf, or a beanie hat may prove a good idea. Air-conditioning on buses tends to be excessive, and running nose and sore throats abound after even not the longest bus rides.
  • Always use the security belts even if your bus ride attendant or driver does not insist on it. Your safety comes first – for you, for sure. All buses normally are equipped with security belts, but they may be fixed behind your seat. Take time to find the belt and fix it appropriately.
  • To avoid being disturbed by overhead lights, switched on during stops even at night, and too loud music or sound from the on-board entertainment system, have earplugs and a sleeping mask at hand.
  • As a courtesy to other passengers, avoid using strong perfumes or smelly foods. Some foods like cheeses or durians are forbidden to take on-board – check in advance. Alcohol is also prohibited on the majority of buses.
  • Note that if the bus requires refuelling en-route, passengers will be asked to get off the bus. Operators are not allowed to refuel with passengers on board due to safety reasons. Usually, it takes from 5 to 10 minutes and is often combined with a toilet/lunch stop.
  • If not stated otherwise in your tickets, arrive at the bus station 20-30 minutes before departure. It will give you enough time to find the departure platform and check-in. For international trips, you may need more time for check-in and border formalities.
