Tigerline Travel runs high speed ferries to all the Thai islands in the Adaman Sea including Phuket, Koh Phi Phi, Koh Lanta, Koh Ngai, Mook, Koh Libong, Ko Muk, Koh Lipe, Lipeh, Koh Kradan, and Langkawi in Malaysia. All ferries are high-speed ferries that are steel reinforced and have between 134 and 180 seats. They have air-conditioned cabins on the first floor and open-air cabins on the second floor.
Some routes also include combo tickets which have pick up bus and ferry travel from airports and hotels.
Routes served by Tigerline Travel Ferry Service
Tigerline Travel has a huge number of routes to the Thai islands in the Andaman Sea as well as to Langkawi in Malaysia.
Some of the most popular routes are as follows:
Koh Lipe–Langkawi
The journey from Koh Lipe to Langkawi takes between 2 and 3 hours. Tickets for this route are THB480 or USD14. Boats depart twice daily at 11 am and 4 pm.
Phuket–Koh Phi Phi
The perennial favourite, Phuket–Ko Phi Phi tickets cost THB480 or USD14 and boats leave at 6 am, 8 am, and 1.30 pm. The journey takes between 2 and 3 hours depending on the pier your depart and arrive.
Krabi–Koh Phi Phi
Similarly to Phuket–Koh Phi Phi route, Krabi to Koh Phi Phi enjoy great popularity. It takes even less to reach Koh Phi Phi from Krabi, so if you are not very fond of sea journeys, consider this opportunity. Tickets for this service also cost THB480 or USD14 and boats depart at 8.15 am, 10 am, and 12 pm. The journey should take around 2 hours depending on the route.
Pros
Tigerline Travel sails to all islands in the Andaman Sea, even some of the smaller ones that are difficult to travel to independently.
All boats have air-conditioning if you select the first floor cabins.
You can select other add-ons with this service including taxi pick up at your hotel or the airport which is helpful if you are newly arrived in Thailand.
Bookings can be made online.
Cons
Boats do not run all year round and are seasonal and schedules are subject to change. At times boats only run in the busier months such as August.
The Tigerline Travel website is basic and it can be difficult to book tickets directly through the site.
Boats do not run if the weather is stormy.
You may find that boats are subject to delays particularly if there are a high volume of passengers.
Keep in mind
Some of the smaller islands like Koh Ngai, Koh Kradan, Koh Mook, and Koh Lipe do not have a pier and so you will need to get a long tail taxi boat from the ferry arrival point to the island. These boats belong to local fishermen and are not included in the ticket price. You will need to pay the driver of the boat THB50 or USD1.50.
Travellers reviews
Though in general people are quite satisfied with the service, when booking pick up combos delays are common and you can be put on the next boat. This is Thailand! Be patient or buy ferry-only tickets to avoid confusion. Note that even in this case you can still arrive later than expected due to the tides.
There have been some reports of overcrowding of the boats with not enough seats and life jackets for everyone aboard. In fact, we were very surprised to hear that as during the last couple of years the regulations on sea transportation became much stricter than before and are widely enforced. So hopefully you won’t face this issue during your journey.

The pickup was more than one hour earlier than announced. We received an E-Mail with the real pickup time about 30 minutes before the pickup. This is to late. Although the driver was 10 minutes earlier than announced in the E-Mail and was in hurry.
The ride with the Van was dangerous for all road users, because the driver drove regardless of others and very fast.
The ride with the boat was not very comfortabel but ok. This is normal because of the small boat, but it is not to everybody's taste. Customers should keep this in mind.

During the Booking it was not clear, at what Pier the Boat will drop us off. Due to the fact we‘ve booked Hotel Transfer also, we First did not mind. But when we got off way other than expected and the driver was Not willing to bring us to our Hotel, because with the unexpected far Pier, we had to Book another driver by ourselves and payed double. In My Booking it says confirmed Hotel Transfer and I also typed in the name of the Hotel but we did not get there with our Booking with you.

Tigerline boats have not the same standard as Bundhaya boats. Sundays is much better.
Customers should be informed about the stops during the trip. We had 3. Therefore it took more time. It would be nice if they sell some drinks (beer, water, cola on board).
Booked earlier boat which did not depart at all as it was consolidated with later boat. Can understand from economic standpoint but I as customer had to wait and sit there, no prior communication, reschedule pickup at destination, etc. and when asking why boat was “late” I’ve been lied to my face - “boat delayed because of waves…” - sure
Difficult to find any representative for the company. They showed up at 11:10 for an 11:15 departure…meanwhile, 4-5 other boat companies were greeting and departing with their guests…once we met the representative, the boat was quite crowded, but the service was good.
We booked a direct boat speedboat from Koh Lanta to Ao Nang paid extra for the convenience of getting there fast. Itinerary said 45 minutes. We left the dock early and thought this was great until we ended up going from Koh Lanta to Phi Phi to Railay and then to Ao Nang. I could have taken a taxi for less cost and same time. Others in the boat said same thing.. they were told it was direct! What if I was trying to make a flight? We also had to switch boats and luggage from one boat to another
We took a boat from Railay Beach to Koh Lipe, choosing this company because it advertised the shortest travel time. However, the experience didn’t match what was promised.
We expected a direct trip, but the boat stopped at many islands along the way. Because of that, the journey took much longer than expected, and we arrived about 1 to 1.5 hours late. So overall, you really can’t rely on the schedule shown on their website.
The boat itself was very hot, but that seems to be standard for speedboats in Thailand. Passengers are covered by a canopy, so you’re protected from sun and rain, but the luggage stays outside, exposed to the sun the entire time.
One small positive point is that, because of the multiple stops, you can get off at some islands and use the bathroom. This actually helps, since the toilet on the boat is very poor.
The sea was calm for most of the trip, but during the last 1 to 1.5 hours it got quite rough, which can be uncomfortable if you’re sensitive to waves.
In summary, the company advertises a shorter travel time than what actually happens, mainly because the trip is not direct and includes multiple stops.
Was meant to be a 2.5 hour trip but was actually 5 hours without anyone informing us as there were approximately 5 stops on the way. We would have booked a different company to go direct like this one was meant too if it wasn’t falsely advertised
Tigerline fast boat transfer during afternoon (low numbers of reservations) use poor / small boat to do open sea transport, where more powerfull and great boat are necessary, to do sea transfers in open sea. If stops in other islands are scheduled, delay is a sure fact. If you want to save some money or doesn’t matter high waves or delay, take this company. If you prefer more comfort, pay more for other provider.
Overall experience 3/5- we successfully made it from Koh Mook Pier to Krabi airport, on time for our flight. However, the communication from Tigerline (journey provider) was pretty non-existent throughout. It was not clear which initial boat we should be boarding from Koh Mook, and required us to be asking each boat that arrived if we should be boarding for our trip to Krabi. Once on the first boat, it travelled to Koh Lanta pier where 90% of passengers got off. They removed all luggage from the boat, failing to communicate to the 10 or so passengers remaining seated that they should also be getting off at this pier. We then had an hour stopover waiting at Koh Lanta pier for a connecting boat onwards to Krabi (none of which is highlighted when initialing booking this journey). All of this was worked out as we were completing the journey, solely from us asking questions to the boat teams who were ‘running’ the journeys. All in all, if you weren’t as inquisitive as we were, I’d suggest it would have been easy for it to have gone awry. That said, we made it to end-destination on time, and somehow luggage did too! Actual running of the speedboats were very smooth journeys, so recommend from that perspective.
We booked a direct ferry from Koh Phi Phi to Koh Jum and they took us on a ferry to Koh Mook where we had to wait to get another ferry to Koh Jum. Zero information about the change.
The boat was OK, but not very comfortable, especially with the luggage stowed under the seats meaning there was a lack of legroom.
The captain seemed a little reckless, at one point he had to make a sudden turn to avoid running over a fishing net, despite the two fishing boats that were trawling it being visible from a long way away.
Coming into port, he crossed another boats wake at full-speed causing a bug crash back down onto the water. Finally when Coming upto the Dock, he was manoeuvring far too fast and must have caused damage to his own boat or the one he squeezed alongside.
Not directly relevant to the journey, but be careful of the tuk-tuk lady, she shows you an official looking card and it's only later that you realise you've paid 3 or 4 times the going rate.

We arrived earlier but the staff at the pier (not the company operating the boat) didn’t want to make us go earlier in another boat that wasn’t full. We had to wait for more than an hour there, and the departure was then delayed by the operating company. The staff at the pier speaks close to no English. Maybe going with another pied might be better.

To many people on the boat, not enough space for all to sit. It was a long trip (3 hours), which made the seating issue to a huge problem. Also the safety isn’t properly with that many on the boat.
A lot of stops on the way that the ticket doesnt inform about. This made the trip about an hour longer that expected.
The staff wasn’t at all helpfull for the customers who didn’t find a place to sit, so people was standing up and was very confused about how to solve the problem.

Was not a sign, staff or anything to make sure you were in the right place. Just a pin dropped right on the big street. We sat down at a taped up paper that had “12go” handwritten on it because we booked through 12go. We were there on time and kept a lookout for any big vans. Didn’t see anyone looking for passengers. After 30 minutes of waiting we finally called and they had apparently left without us. Didn’t shout the destination or tried even the slightest to find us. We had to take the trip (with another company!) the day after and pay for two hotels that night and new tickets. Have not gotten help from the company or 12go. If you are getting picked up from Ao Nang meeting point, be aware. We are so disappointed with this service and the driver not even doing the bare minimum to do his job correctly. Will not book again with this company.

Easy to find the check in point, timely departure from the pier. We stopped at 3 islands to drop off and pick up but were only delayed about 30 minutes. The only inconvenient thing was that we were expected to carry our luggage down the floating pier to the beach which was very difficult, and they didn't have the pier pulled up to the sand so you had to step off into and walk in the water. Help would have been appreciated but overall a decent operation.

Our transfer was delayed by 1.15 min, so instead of 3.15 hours it took 4.30 hours. It was very chaotic when we got to Koh Lanta and asked to leave the ferry, we then had to wait for 2nd ferry but non of this was part of the itinerary /explained.
