Плюсы путешествия на автобусе
- Автобус – лучший вариант, чтобы добраться до локаций, которые не связаны жд веткой или авиасообщением. Автобусная сеть часто охватывает всю страну, а маршруты давно сформированы и обкатаны.
- В отличие от авиаперелетов и иногда – жд поездок приезжать на автостанцию сильно заранее необходимости нет. Регистрация, даже на международных автобусных рейсах, как правило, не занимает много времени. Допуски по багажу тоже весьма и весьма приятные, а если лимиты на вес багажа все-таки установлены, то доплата за перевес почти всегда совсем невысокая.
- Билеты на автобус обычно более доступны, чем билеты на самолет или скорый поезд. Разнообразие классов и тарифов ориентировано на любой кошелек. Самые дешевые варианты, возможно, не самый быстрый способ прибыть в пункт назначения, но свою работу автобусы в любом случае делают. На более длинных маршрутах есть либо туалеты в салоне, либо остановки, билет включает снеки, воду, иногда туалетные принадлежности, одеяла и прочие полезные и приятные вещи.
- Если вы готовы потратить чуть больше, то некоторые ВИПы по комфорту и обслуживанию могут вполне соперничать с бизнес-классом на самолетах: широкие мягкие раскладывающиеся кресла, одеяла, меньшее, по сравнению с обычными автобусами, число пассажиров и прочие бонусы очень скрашивают впечатления от поездки.
Минусы путешествия на автобусе
- Новые междугородние автобусные терминалы нередко расположены на окраине города у оживленных шоссе, чтобы автобусы не вставали в городские пробки. Для путешественника в этом не только плюс, но и минус. Добираться до таких терминалов бывает непросто или долго, плюс в некоторых локациях обслуживать терминалы разрешается не любому транспорту – т.е. даже некоторые службы такси туда не допускают. Как результат – спекулятивные цены на перевозку. Если нужно выезжать в часы-пик, не забывайте заложить дополнительное время на поездку.
- Автобус, наверное, вид транспорта, который наиболее подвержен задержкам и нарушению расписания – если сравнивать с самолетами или поездами. Причин может быть великое множество – от ДТП до ремонта дороги, объезда и т.д. Ситуация ухудшается в дни государственных праздников, длинные выходные, высокий сезон. Учитывайте этот момент и не планируйте коротких стыковок.
- Если вы планируете поездку по одному из наиболее востребованных маршрутов и/или в высокий сезон, стоит озаботиться заблаговременным бронированием билетов. Учитывайте, что просто прийти на автовокзал и уехать ближайшим рейсом возможно далеко не всегда: билеты вполне могут быть распроданы, так что планируйте заранее.

Charles Don't use this company. Maybe the price but I would never use this company again to save 9 euros. Our tickets had a departure time but no arrival time. The driver just shrugged when asked. On leaving Seville we went a circuitous route with three drop of points two of which the driver stood smoking outside for thirty minutes each time. The driver talked on his handheld mobile until asked by a passenger to stop. The driver managed to cut up a car driver possibly inadvertently who then drove alongside hooting and shouting abuse ,the driver shouted back.Nothing on my ticket told me it would be a 4 and half hour journey. The other passengers were similarly disappointed and or angry.The journey out three days before had taken only two hours of smooth non stop trouble free driving with Alsa. NOT HAPPY.

Ellen Violent Driver. The driver was physically aggressive with someone who wanted to get on the bus, but was, for reasons I don’t know, not allowed to. The guy was definitely troubled and seemed drunk, so totally get he was not allowed. The bus driver pushed him and touched his head. When the bus drove off and the young guy showed his middle finger, the bus driver stopped the bus abruptly, got out and ran to the guy to fight him! Luckily we were a few people intervening and the guy was not badly hurt. So unnecessary. Also racing down the mountain roads, I felt unsafe with an impulsive, reactive, aggressive driver.

Bec Avoid like the plague. It was the only bus service on offer that day that could get us to London. Its not worth the cheaper ticket, don't do it! The driver was smoking on the bus (both at the door entrance and while driving). There was very poor communication about what is happening; e.g. rushed to customs, but it was not clear what we were doing. In fact, much of the time the driver/s didn't appear to know what the process was either. It did not help that their English was limited. There was no indication when buying a ticket that part of the journey included a ferry ride - which we were stuck stationary waiting 4 hours for because the first ferry didn't leave until 6am - the journey seemed very poorly co-ordinated. Facilities on the coach are severely lacking: No WiFi or charging ports on the bus, and no toilet onboard for an 11 hour journey. We stopped twice. It was an overnight bus and driver/s were often speaking loudly to each other, listening loudly to videos on their phones without headphones in, or turning on the bright lights intermittently. Very poor comfort for a long haul trip. The driver was seen to be talking on phone while driving for much of the journey. Can another company please provide a competitive service - anyone could do better than this.

Anonymous Transfer to Sofia. it was excellent value for money and the bus turned up on time at the departure bus station, and arrived early in Sofia. The driver did not check us onboard and there were several people sitting in the wrong seats and the passengers had to then ask them to move.. which they did, but some were reluctant to do so.

Anonymous Worst experience ever. 3.5h delay, impolite customer service. My busy supposed to leave Lille at 11pm. I received an email from Unibus at 11:08pm which says the bus is running late for 3 hours. I asked customer service cancellation and compensation otherwise their response was only 50% of refund. At the end of this story, the bus showed up with 3.5 hours delay and just passed an address supposed to be a bus stop for Unibus at full speed. Luckily, the bus had to stop at a traffic light, then I could catch it up. I could imagine that the bus could just go away and I would be left after hours of waiting in winter night time. That was the most horrible experience I ever had in my travel experience and I would never use Unibus again. I consider to obtain legal advice for this case. (According to ‘Passenger Rights under Regulation (EU) No. 181/2011’).

Anonymous 3 hours late.. I liked that I received an email letting me know about the delay in advance and that I got a quick response on WhatsApp when I asked for an update later. That the driver only gave instructions in greek and then shouted and waved at people who didn't know where to go at the border control because we didn't understand.

Anonymous Excellent experience except .. The only negative thing was that we had to wait 40 minutes in a station where we supposed to stay only for 10 minutes as a driver told us. The reason was we were waiting some passengers to come. This really ruined the trip as it is really annoying when 20 or so passengers have to wait some irresponsible persons. Everyone was upset and even a lady did get late on purpose on the next bus stop.

Anonymous Terrible. I liked that there was nobody next to my seat otherwise we would feel like sardines in a can. I am 1.62cm tall and I was feeling like in a can. The seats are so tiny like for kids in the kindergarten. The boy behind me was tall one, all the time the knees in my back. Poor boy feeling even worse. The bus is 30 years old and smells bad inside. The driver was opening the window to smoke, bringing even more bad smell and becoming cold in the bus. Driving 100km per hour when outside is minus 5 is terrible. The bus is slow usually takes 4.45 minutes, the bus was so powerless that it took 45mins more than usual. At the end the driver turned off the heating. It was freezing. This company is big and all the buses are absolutely disgusting. Last year I travelled to Thessaloniki from Sofia the bus got overheated and we had to stop 3 times to it can cool off, add water and somehow get safe to Thessaloniki. Why the hell they don't change buses????????????????

Gabriela That was a nightmare. I have no place to enjoy of the trip anymore. The travel was the most terrible and worst than everything before. It was like a horror movie of Stephen King. The bus is late with 9 hours. They forgot to took me from the bus station and i was waiting on the street more than 40 minutes. If you have opportunitie never travel with Union Ivkoni.

Cristina increadibly poor customer service in Burgas. I never managed to get the bus cause the lady at the customer service desk did not give me the needed information. I have taken this bus before tough and the ride is usually smooth. the lady at the customer service desk was extremely rude and aggressive.

Anees Dropped me off at the wrong place. I was supposed to go to Varna but the driver never went to the central station in Varna. He just dropped off the other driver in the outskirts of the city. When I asked him he went blank. He didn't even know there was a passenger for Varna. He never looked at the list. Then he dropped me off at a remote location at night and told me that I could take the bus from there . Surprise, surprise, there was no bus from there.

Anonymous Excellent driver - very kind conductor (ticket collector). The weather was horrible, it was late evening and there was snow on the road but the driver was excellent in every way. He drove the bus safely and took as to Plovdiv just on time. Congratulations to the driver. The conductor (man checking the tickets and travelling in the bus) has been very kind indeed. He helped me with my luggage and made sure we all were seated in our seats and comfortable. All in all it was a very pleasant experience.
