Самое приятное в путешествии на автобусе – это возможность собрать свой вариант под ваши требования по комфорту и стоимости. Для этого придумали разные типы автобусов и разные классы билетов – каждый сможет подобрать что-то конкретно под свои запросы. Как правило, самые дешевые билеты – на стандартные автобусы. Они могут называться по-разному: местные, экспресс, обычные и т.д., но суть одна. Такие автобусы вполне подойдут для коротких поездок. Автобусы-слиперы (спальные, ночные) или VIP хороши для длинных и ночных переездов. Такие автобусы могут быть оснащены более широкими мягкими раскладывающимися креслами, иногда с функцией массажа, или спальными полками; билет может включать одеяла, безалкогольные напитки, снеки или более плотную еду прямо на борту либо в кафе во время остановок на размять ноги, сходить в туалет или заправиться. Если выбирать ночные автобусы, то можно сэкономить на стоимости комнаты в отеле, но тут стоит выбирать правильный класс автобуса, чтобы провести ночь с максимальным комфортом. Порой даже для не самых длинных поездок стоит заплатить чуть больше за VIP, потому как на некоторых маршрутам ВИПы идут порой в два раза быстрее обычных автобусов.
Едем на автобусе: плюсы и минусы
Плюсы путешествия на автобусе
- Автобус – лучший вариант, чтобы добраться до локаций, которые не связаны жд веткой или авиасообщением. Автобусная сеть часто охватывает всю страну, а маршруты давно сформированы и обкатаны.
- В отличие от авиаперелетов и иногда – жд поездок приезжать на автостанцию сильно заранее необходимости нет. Регистрация, даже на международных автобусных рейсах, как правило, не занимает много времени. Допуски по багажу тоже весьма и весьма приятные, а если лимиты на вес багажа все-таки установлены, то доплата за перевес почти всегда совсем невысокая.
- Билеты на автобус обычно более доступны, чем билеты на самолет или скорый поезд. Разнообразие классов и тарифов ориентировано на любой кошелек. Самые дешевые варианты, возможно, не самый быстрый способ прибыть в пункт назначения, но свою работу автобусы в любом случае делают. На более длинных маршрутах есть либо туалеты в салоне, либо остановки, билет включает снеки, воду, иногда туалетные принадлежности, одеяла и прочие полезные и приятные вещи.
- Если вы готовы потратить чуть больше, то некоторые ВИПы по комфорту и обслуживанию могут вполне соперничать с бизнес-классом на самолетах: широкие мягкие раскладывающиеся кресла, одеяла, меньшее, по сравнению с обычными автобусами, число пассажиров и прочие бонусы очень скрашивают впечатления от поездки.
Минусы путешествия на автобусе
- Новые междугородние автобусные терминалы нередко расположены на окраине города у оживленных шоссе, чтобы автобусы не вставали в городские пробки. Для путешественника в этом не только плюс, но и минус. Добираться до таких терминалов бывает непросто или долго, плюс в некоторых локациях обслуживать терминалы разрешается не любому транспорту – т.е. даже некоторые службы такси туда не допускают. Как результат – спекулятивные цены на перевозку. Если нужно выезжать в часы-пик, не забывайте заложить дополнительное время на поездку.
- Автобус, наверное, вид транспорта, который наиболее подвержен задержкам и нарушению расписания – если сравнивать с самолетами или поездами. Причин может быть великое множество – от ДТП до ремонта дороги, объезда и т.д. Ситуация ухудшается в дни государственных праздников, длинные выходные, высокий сезон. Учитывайте этот момент и не планируйте коротких стыковок.
- Если вы планируете поездку по одному из наиболее востребованных маршрутов и/или в высокий сезон, стоит озаботиться заблаговременным бронированием билетов. Учитывайте, что просто прийти на автовокзал и уехать ближайшим рейсом возможно далеко не всегда: билеты вполне могут быть распроданы, так что планируйте заранее.

The bus from Bangkok was good: well organized, on time, and comfortable by Asian standards. The ferry was fine too.
The problem came after we got off the bus. A staff member told me it was impossible to rent a scooter on Koh Phangan that week because of a religious festival, and sold me a 400 baht taxi transfer to my hotel. This was false: scooters were available. I was then made to wait in a shared pick-up taxi for over 45 minutes, since the driver refused to leave until it was full. After a night on the bus, that was frustrating.
I went to the company's desk on the island and asked for a refund. They weren't happy, but did refund me. I rented a scooter and reached my hotel in 30 minutes.
Be careful: don't rely on what the staff tell you about local transport, and check for yourself.

Deandra RGot to destination safely. We only stopped once after 5 hours, and then again at the end of our bus journey. I didn't mind as I had eaten already, although it would've been nice to have more stops as the toilet in the bus didn't smell too good... and its just difficult to use the bathroom in a moving bus.

Aidan CAlright bus ride. Friendly employees. Definitely not the bus from the advertisements. Was an hour late leaving but arrived early. Bus itself is getting pretty run down and the bathroom could use some work, anytime someone used it the smell would waft through the bus. The pickup was also not at the Krabi bus terminal like indicated on the ticket. Pretty average for an overnight bus all and all, definitely not the best but definitely not the worst.

Lisamarie BThe First Van was 30 mins late. After a 10 min ride I switched into a bus to Surat Thani. There was a 30 min break before I got onto another bus that took us to Bangkok. Overall it was comfy most of the time but actually sleeping was quite hard for me :(

We arrived almost at 18:00, while according to the schedule the arrival time was 14:00. A delay of nearly four hours is unacceptable.
Overall, the trip was poorly organized and stressful. I hope the company improves its service and time management.

Denise MThe first ten hours of the bus journey were unfortunately not very pleasant. The seats were squeaky, the bus made a beeping sound every two to five minutes, and overall it was not very comfortable. During the scheduled breaks, the stops were not at official gas stations or regular convenience stores, but at shops operated by the company itself. This created the impression that passengers were being subtly encouraged to purchase food or snacks there, which felt somewhat uncomfortable.
The remainder of the trip was good and seamless. Both the ferry transfer and the second bus were perfectly fine and much more comfortable.

Federica CThe first bus was late but nobody told us anything just a lady at the beginning that did not give us any information,closed the store and left after the initial departure time. we waited for 40 mins without news and with no one at the pick up point.
Then the second overnight bus was HORRIBLE, it stinked like pee for the whole time, the toilet was not working, the seats were extremely narrow and small, not to mention that it was stopping literally every hour turning the lights on, so it was impossible to sleep. No WiFi, no phon plugs, just a 10 hours nightmare. For the same price you can get a much better service. I definetly not reccomend

Because there where no city names on the minivans
We habe to ask several times
Two of the guests took the wrong mini van and we have to return to change the guests
The mini van was too full and the driver drove in a very dangerous way
We were afraid
He didn’t leave space to the front cars on the highway and has difficulties to stop in time
For tall people it is difficult to find space for the legs

Aiden JI had to pay an extra 600 baht for mini van to Patong. I paid for the full trip on 12Go said nothing about extra money. They sent the bus back to Bangkok and said you have to get shared minivan from here. So I had no other choice but to pay the extra. It should be put on the listing as Bangkok to Surat Thani not Patong as they don’t take you full way.

Ekaterina KIt was terrible to wait in the middle of nowhere the bus to the Bangkok. From the ferry station the old and scary vehicles to the Surat Thani. Then in this middle of nowhere with padthai for 100 baht also was asked to pay additional 200 baht for the sitting alone.

Jonah GBus was pretty cramped and smelly wish the seats were more comfortable. They did a stop that seamed kinda like a scam where everyone was let off at a bus stop and they basically forced people to buy these expensive bus passes basically the same price as a taxi from the ferry to your hotel I recommend for the price to just get rental motercycle for the day and drive around. Also it won't let you motorbike taxi out of the Ferry terminal you gotta walk like 100meters to the 711 and they will pick you up there.

Matt BYou might not know what vehicle you are getting in straight away. Don’t panic. The drivers can be abit crazy. They will call out different destinations randomly, without any rhyme or reason. Just make sure you get in the right vehicle.

Mark HAdvertised as arrival 16.30. We arrived 17.30. Bus from Don Sak to Krabi very old. Sold by Jorinthion tour. Did not see once a board or sign showing this. At vehicle changes we had to ask a few people to find our way.

The driver though was quite loud to announce the Night stop (0pm) and Bus change (6am), which would have been nice to be informed about earlier, and not have the feeling of suddenly being thrown out of the Bus.

Patrycja WWe booked a trip from Koh Lanta to Bangkok starting at 12:30pm at Lanta Transport Office and with a planned arrival in Bgk at 6am.
We first got onto a van from Lanta to Krabi Bus Station where we had to wait for 1,5h to change into a bigger bus. We then travelled for a few hours to somewhere in Chumpon where we changed again (after waiting an hour) into a VIP sleeper bus. I think it was the more expensive option, but definitely worth it as the seats were very comfortable. We arrived an hour earlier in Bagkok, so at 5:00am. The whole experience was quite ok, not as bad as we were anticipating. The only few points for you to be aware of: 1)the changeovers between buses etc was quite chaotic with different people were saying different things 2) it would be nice to be told of the fact that you'd be changing means of transport twice, not once. Apart from that it was quite ok, but I strongly suggest you go for the more comfortable/expensive option of the VIP bus.

Shyanne GGreat experience!! The bus from start to finish was amazing, the bus was new, very clean and the seats recline to almost laying down. The bus driver and other staff were very helpful, friendly and they spoke great English. I was very comfortable the whole way to Bangkok, we stopped twice for food and arrived an hour early.
My only constructive criticism is about the first food stop which left me a little disappointed- I have a rare medical condition, it’s an autoimmune disease I have take three different types of antihistamines throughout the day/while eating as I am allergic to almost everything but some foods cause anaphylactic shock. I had some issues arise before boarding the ferry which prevented me from getting some food for my trip. So when we arrived at the first stop, I tried to ask the only food stand for ingredients in the fried rice, she looked immediately looked annoyed of me, then spoke to the other person working her who then gave an uncomfortable glare and proceeded to ignore me. I asked again and they both ignored me again. I was so hungry, and could not eat for 6 more hours. The next stop happily got me steamed rice and fried eggs because I could eat the other food that was available, and she did it happily (I tipped her) I have lived in Thailand for two years, many many Thai people have read my phone with a smile and help with my food requests.

Isabela BIt is an adventure, but not in a good way. From koh lanta to Bangkok I changed into 4 different ways of transportation, first a mini van, than a microbus (terrible btw), than a tuktuk and finally the bus (old, not so comfortable). The only stop that the bus does is in a restaurant on the road, expensive and not too many options to eat. It could be better organized and comfortable, cause it is a long long trip. The drivers don't speak English and don't explain what is happening.
