De twee belangrijkste zaken die reizen met een busje zo aantrekkelijk maken zijn een ruime keuze aan bestemmingen en betaalbare prijzen. Niet alle busjes bieden topcomfort, voldoende beenruimte of bagageruimte, maar deze twee punten compenseren dat wel. In tegenstelling tot treinen of grotere bussen kan je bij busjes zelden kiezen uit verschillende ticketklassen. Alle zitplaatsen zijn hetzelfde - noem het standaard, VIP of wat dan ook. Wat wel kan verschillen is het type busje zelf. Sommige busjes bieden slechts plaats aan 9-10 passagiers. Voor reizigers betekent dit bredere stoelen, meer ruimte en een comfortabelere reis. Minibusjes voor maximaal 15 passagiers zijn ook goed, maar wees bereid om beenruimte op te offeren en vaak ook ruimte voor je baggage. Soms kan het een goed idee zijn om twee stoelen in plaats van één te kopen voor een comfortabelere rit - maar het loont de moeite om bij de exploitant na te gaan of dit op je route is toegestaan. Reizen met een minibusje: Voor- en nadelen
Voordelen van minibusjes
- Busjes kunnen de enige manier zijn om sommige van de meest afgelegen bestemmingen te bereiken, kleinere steden of dorpen die niet verbonden zijn met grote bussen of treinen.
- Busjes kunnen je ook naar sommige eilanden brengen die met het vasteland verbonden zijn door grote autoveerboten die door grote bussen niet kunnen worden gebruikt.
- Omdat busjes kleiner zijn dan grote bussen, zijn busjes wendbaarder op de weg. Dit resulteert soms in een kortere reistijd, vooral als je bestemming niet ver weg is.
- Hoewel busjes onderweg een officiële halte hebben, kunnen ze je ook op een meer geschikte plaats laten uitstappen - je hoeft niet naar de terminal te gaan, vraag het gewoon aan je chauffeur. Merk op dat het niet altijd mogelijk is, maar in veel gevallen zullen ze meewerken. Het kan je zowel tijd als geld besparen die je anders te voet of per taxi van de terminal zou hebben besteed.
Nadelen van minibusjes
- Busjes met meer passagiers kunnen behoorlijk krap aanvoelen. Verwacht beperkte ruimte voor je benen en ellebogen. Sommige busjes beperken de bagage voor één ticket tot één stuk. Als je meer tassen, koffers of rugzakken hebt, kan je gevraagd worden een apart ticket te kopen voor je bagage, waardoor de reis twee keer zo duur wordt.
- Niet alle busjes rijden op schema. Op bepaalde routes vertrekken de busjes alleen als ze vol zijn. Vraag dit na bij je vervoerder voordat je je ticket koopt, anders kan je veel langer dan verwacht moeten wachten tot het busje vol is.
- Niet elke chauffeur houdt zich aan de verkeersregels. Sommige bedrijven installeren snelheidscontrole-eenheden op hun voertuigen, maar het komt niet zelden voor dat dit apparaat de hele rit piept terwijl de bestuurder er niet op let. Vergeet niet je veiligheidsgordel om te doen als je met een busje reist. Houd er wel rekening mee dat je soms goed moet zoeken om de veiligheidsgordel te vinden.
- Voor wie gevoelig is voor reisziekte is er een goed advies: neem je medicijnen een half uur voor je reis met een minibusje in, vooral als je route bochtige stukken omvat. In een busje is de kans groter dat je je reisziek voelt dan in een bus.

Marc GWe werden ongeveer 15 minuten na de deadline opgehaald, wat hier normaal is, dus geen paniek! Bel anders gewoon even de hotline.
We reisden in een minibus met airconditioning en namen een toiletpauze van 10 minuten bij een benzinestation.
We kwamen ongeveer 30 minuten later aan en de chauffeur reed een beetje snel, maar nog steeds veilig. De reis is zeker een aanrader :)

James HDe transfer was prima. De minibus was comfortabel, de chauffeur was fatsoenlijk en we waren min of meer op tijd op onze bestemming (drie uur).
Het enige probleem was dat we een half uur later werden opgehaald dan we hadden verwacht (we waren een van de laatste paren die werden opgehaald).

Lilli MDe chauffeur was 20 minuten te vroeg bij ons hotel, maar gelukkig waren we er al. Hij was erg beleefd en maakte één toiletstop. Hij had ook echt een verantwoordelijke rijstijl. De auto was comfortabel en had genoeg ruimte voor onze bagage, alleen de airco had wat koeler gekund - het was behoorlijk warm. We bereikten Koh Lanta om 14:30 omdat we een half uur moesten wachten op de veerboot.
We hoefden geen extra geld te betalen om afgezet te worden bij ons hotel op Koh Lanta - het was inclusief.
We zouden deze reis zeker nog een keer boeken :)!

Laura SWe boekten een hoteltransfer van het hotel in Ao Nang naar het hotel in Koh Lanta. In Koh Lanta stopte onze chauffeur bij een agentschap en zij zeiden dat we nog eens 100 BHT per persoon moesten betalen voor de chauffeur om ons naar het hotel te brengen. Vasiliki BWe literally had our suitcases all over our heads, in the corridors blocking the exit. The most unsafe transfer I have ever had. I was scared for the safety of my son and me, most of all in the ferry, as I knew that if anything happened, there was no way out of the vehicle, because of all the suitcases blocking every exit. The company should book more vehicles to accomodate customers and not juggle with their safety for profit. Terrible experience.

Ferdie MEverybody, including ourselves, were picked up in Ao nang, but we, my wife and I , for some misterious reason, were charged an extra THB200, which we had to pay in cash to the driver on arrival to Koh Lanta. Did'nt get much joy or a logical explanation after enquiring online about this. Needless to say, we won't be using the same service again.

Ella GTransfer was efficient and easy, the driver was late by an hour which set us back a little but the bus, ferry and journey as a whole was great. I whatsapped the company as the PDF said to be there an hour before and they said the bus would arrive at a certain time, and then the bus was much later, this was slightly frustrating but not a major issue.

Joanna TWait super long in bus station and we switched 3 times the van … the worse is the driver (I think nobody told him) didn’t want to drive me to the hotel however the staff in the bus station suggest me to pay more for drop me off at my hotel instead of the mc Donald’s … the poor driver didn’t speak English it was hard to convince him to drive people, who paid more, to their hotel

Max BPick up was in the 30 min scheduled, very nice modern bus with plenty of space. I was sitting in the back and had enough leg room while I am 1.93cm. Driver drove great although taking it a bit slower wouldn't mind me personally. We arrived 30m earlier than planned so that was great!

Max MOverall the trip was satisfactory, but our van came about 20 minutes before the given time, which is why we had to rush to catch it. Additionally, we had to wait about an hour at a transit station, because we needed to change to another van. In the end, we arrived an hour late, because the driver had to drop off people in a completely different place. The comfort was decent though.

Yessenia JThe company communicated well on where to meet for pick up with an easy to follow picture. They let us know when the vehicle was there and were available for questions. The drive itself was comfortable, very affordable, and safe! Chuang CThe trip was smooth. Not very crowded in the van, so plenty of room for my giant suitcase. I paid another 200 Baht for the luggage before getting on the bus. We waited for about 1.5h for the boat, which then took another 1.5h to get to Koh Samui. It was difficult to bring the luggage when boarding because of the staircases. But getting off the boat was smooth (I don't know why there was no ramp when we were boarding).
Although the website does not show the option of transferring to the hotel at Koh Samui, you can directly pay 150 Baht for that service at the bus terminal of Krabi. It would be better if it is stated on this website because I spent a while to find hotel-to-hotel transfer.

Monir K**Very Poor Driver Attitude & Unprofessional Service – 1/5 ⭐**
I am very disappointed with the driver's attitude and behavior during this transfer.
I was informed of the available pickup times and **specifically selected 3:00 PM**. However, the driver arrived at approximately **2:40 PM** and immediately started rushing us, showing an angry and irritated attitude. I calmly told him that we would be ready by the selected pickup time of 3:00 PM and that there was no need to worry. Instead, he told me that I should have been standing by from **2:30 PM**.
If the driver expected passengers to be ready at 2:30 PM, this should have been clearly communicated in advance. It is unreasonable to select a 3:00 PM pickup time and then pressure passengers for not being ready 30 minutes earlier.
The driver's attitude throughout the journey from **Phuket to Krabi** was also extremely unpleasant. Whenever we encountered traffic jams or traffic signals, he repeatedly **hit/slammed the steering wheel in frustration**. This was very uncomfortable to witness as a passenger and made me question his professionalism and emotional control while driving.
I also noticed that **one of the seats in the front row was damaged**.
