The trip itself was okay, but unfortunately, the place we told we was getting dropped off at was miles away from where we actually stopped. Which meant that we couldn't get to our hotel (which we booked for opposite where we was supposed to be dropped off according to 12Go). So we lost out on a precious few hours sleep and 460 baht for the hotel and another 250 to get us near to where we had to be the following morning. If you book this journey, be cautious as to where you actually stop.

The site said the bus and ferry ticket was included in the price but it was not. I did not receive any emails with bus/ferry ticket so I had to purchase it when I arrive to the connecting bus.

Enjoyed the sleeping berths and slept well. However the coffee and food were terrible. If I do this again, I will bring my own snacks.

The trip was great, I travelled with another nice passenger. My only downfall during this whole trip was the reception from the 12Go team at the train station. After such a long trip across the ocean, I would have appreciated a proper welcome.

Wir wurden geweckt und irgendwo in Suratthani rausgelassen. Wir waren nicht am Busbahnhof. Wurden von einem Tuktuk Fahrer abgefangen der uns für 350 Baht zum Busbahnhof brachte. So war die Reise nicht gebucht. Schade, das war nicht in Ordnung. Ansonsten hat alles gut geklappt.

Comfortable seat, complimentary coffee and lunch (although served a bit early - 1030am) - and was nice. We were delayed by 1 hour but this wasn't a big deal for us. Lovely seeing the countryside as we travelled south. A/C initially a bit cold but warmed up a bit later. Service from 12go excellent. Easy to book online and nice people in the office opposite Bangkok station. I'd recommend.

It was okay the bus driver and his helper was nice bus was dirty especially the seats but they give u comfy clean blankets snack and water. We arrived exactly on time. Seat recline back

Very polite staff, on time service, really cheap but a bit cramped for anyone over 5 foot. It’s designed for Thais so not really their fault. Free snacks and drinks.

Was nice enough journey but not luxury. Train was very clean and comfortable but toilets need updating to make more hygienic and less smelly. Beds were comfortable with clean sheets and blanket. Air con was freezing (too cold for December). Train was noise and bit bumpy but enjoyed the experience and did get a fair bit of sleep. Would travel this way again.

Efficient way to travel but don’t expect too much of it. Beds were made very early so nothing left but to sit/lie in your bed. Noise until late. And they start very early to sell coffee/tea again. So not much of sleep. Upper berth was fine by the way, up to 1.75m or something.

I took a 2nd class sleeper bed and it was amazing! I slept really good and everything was so comfy! - Sound of railway was sometimes bothering but it was ok!

Wasn’t the train I was shown the lower berth was a lot smaller and extremely hard to sleep with a child unlike the other train we usually get. Also the train itself was so old when stopping and going again such a sharp bump and there were a lot of stops from Bangkok to Surat Thani. We have done a lot of sleep trains and the last 2 we have been extremely disappointed in.

Well.. it got us to Surat Thani. About an hour later than what it was posted to so I’m glad we didn’t have a connecting bus booked already. I’ll be honest, the train itself was pretty old (a Daewoo) the ride was pretty noisy but We were able to sleep. The bathroom was kind of smelly and the toilet opened to the train tracks itself... can you say health hazard.... the staff were friendly enough. It’s the only train so I’d book again because of that.

All was good but a couple of minor problems: no place for the luggage and slightly loudly. As for the 12go, all was just perfect! Thank you guys for this amazing service, especially for the detailed instructions!

Trip was fine, other than when we showed up to our 1st class cabin the bench seat had wet sticky stuff all over it. It was gross and we couldn’t even put our stuff down. Once the attendant came we told him and he just laughed and said “haha yep I guess so”. Luckily we had sanitizing wipes and had to use a large amount to clean this super sticky unknown substance off our our seat.

The train is super nice! The beads are comfy, and at least I was able to sleep well. The only downside was that it was 3 hours late. Apparently it’s quite common.. So you should know this! The delay meant that we got to Koh Phangan around 19 pm instead of 13.. The Lomprayah speedboat to the island was HORRIBLE, if you tend to get seasick avoid it or take a sickness pills..!

Tickets bestellen ging makkelijk, goede informatievoorziening. De trein stopt heel frequent, duurt ongeveer 15 uur voordat de trein surat thani bereikt, komt dus later aan dan 12go asai belooft! (+/- 1,5 tot 2 uur vertraging, dit is eigenlijk altijd zo).

Zug ist pünktlich abgefahren, sind mit ca 45 min Verspätung angekommen. Kabinen waren nicht so super sauber und die Betten recht hart, haben aber dennoch ganz gut geschlafen und die 12 Stunden Zug fahrt gut herum bekommen. Man konnte unsere zweier Privat Kabine abschließen, was ich sehr angenehm fand.

I asked for a window seat, but only got a aisle seat. So I was a Little bit disappointed. I'm railway-fan and for me is very important to catch a seat with good view of the line.

Bett war bequem. Obwohl ich nur mit Ventilator gebucht habe, war die Klima Anlage sowieso an. Die Toiletten sind halt wie im Zug.. Ein Loch im Boden und alles geht raus. Ich konnte wegen den Geräuschen des Zuges nicht so gut schlafen.

We enjoyed it! The train definitely has some features that are less than ideal - it’s an older train and it’s a bit rough around the edges. We took the 83 to Surat Thani, first class sleeper car, and the train left and arrived on time. If you have luxury expectations of a first class sleeper, you should reset those expectations right now. The sleeper is private with fairly comfortable seating and sleeping arrangements, but is by no means luxury. Our luggage fit in our car with us and still left room to be comfortable (though it’s a tight squeeze). The toilet is a squat toilet (but that’s what I’d expected) and it was fine. I wouldn’t call the train dirty, just old and therefore a bit grimy. Overall, we enjoyed it and were surprised that we slept as much as we did!

Was on time, clean and maintained. Upper bed quite small and the curtain dont block lamp light. , down beds are very nice. Unfortunatly there is only 1 electrical socket in mid train and another near toilet.

We'd booked the tickets so that when we arrived we would have been able to have gotten the shuttle bus to our hotel in khao sok. There were known delays which we were not informed about which meant we missed the last shuttle bus and had to pay 1800 for a cab to our hotel instead. Other than that the train staff were very nice.
