Not an Amalfi bus, an old minivan. On time. Small minivan with leaking roof, had heavy rain, so floor was like mini river running down it, driver was smoking in front.
Driver Smoking. Rode from Skopje to Pristina, first part to the border was fine, unfortunately for the second hour the driver decided to open the front windows and turn off the air con so he could smoke, not ideal in July!
6 countries by bus. I booked 7 tickets in total- every journey was comfortable, on time, staff were helpful and polite, such a comfortable and easy way to travel. Will def book again.
Return between Prsitina and Skopje. Tickets between Kosovo and North Macedonia were reletively cheap. Buses were ready on time. Delays at the border were minimal (roughly 20 minutes each way). Buses were overbooked - they were an approx 24-seater minibus each way but more passengers than that turned up for both directions (all with valid online tickets). Luckily in Pristina the Amalfi Tours was local so arranged for a bigger bus to take everyone. And that worked perfectly But the return bus from Skopje had to turn a handful of people away (to wait 90 mins for next bus) despite them booking tickets for that bus online. So to catch flights in Kosovo they had to pay for taxis.
The driver was smoking all the time snd didnt open the window. And we arrived 3 hours late! Everythinc but mostly the delay. We startet at time but arrived 3 hours late.
Very questionable minibus. On time. The minibus felt very unsafe. Person next to me had no seatbelt, someone else's seat just came off mid journey. It was leaking water in though the roof. Boarding is quiet chaotic too.
Our trip was a little chaotic. Ease of booking tickets. Chaotic and unsafe in many respects. The journey was overbooked despite pre bookings taking place, a mini bus was replaced with eventually a larger coach. The driver was rude and unaccommodating.
Sadly Unpleasant Experinece. The bus had a flat tire so we drove very slowly for the first 30 minutes until the driver pulled over and we switched buses. Both buses smelled horribly of cigarette smoke. The second driver started smoking while driving - it was wretched. I had a scarf wrapped around my mouth and nose it was bad. The seats were small - toddler sized. Overall terrible experience.
It was a real true balcan experience. The driver didn’t notice we had a puncture and trove till Kosovo like this. Then we stopped in Kosovo (we were arriving from Skopje) and we fixed the tired, not before rolling it in a bathtube (??). The driver also stopped to get some groceries, but we finally made it safe and sound to Pristina with the engine smoking like hell. Would recommend 10/10.
Over booking. Even though the seats were full they made us make shift seats to sit down on the bus. Booking seats is a mess. Even if you show up and have a booking that was done months in advance there’s no guarantee they’d save a seat for you and you could be stranded last minute.
