We took the bus from 6 in the morning from the train station. We drove the bus to the office in Surat Thani, where we had to check in, wait 40 minutes and then be put in a different bus.
We were late for the ferry, and only got on the boat at 9.
Communication is very bad. Staff was friendly
Train sas one hour late, but Transfer to Donsak pier was on time. We finally caught the 12:30 ferry to ko samui and arrived at 2:30 instead of 1:30. Phantip offered taxi to hotel on ko samui for 150bahts/ person.

We met Phantip just outside the train station (1 minute walk) at their office. They had a breakfast menu so we enjoyed some food after a long train journey.
The staff were friendly and helpful. The journey to Koh Samui was easy and well planned. They took us to the pier and gave us our tickets to Samui.

We had a great experience. At the train station we met two ladies who directed us to the Phantip office. There we could check in and buy done breakfast. After a short wait we went to the pier by bus. Immediately onwards to the ferry. When we arrived at Samui it was very easy to find the taxi driver who brought us to our hotel. All in all it took us 3,5 hours from train station Surat to our hotel at Samui. I believe it could not be done quicker or smoother.
