Leila HThe travel company first of all changed our departure time with only around an hours notice. The staff kept shouting at us in Vietnamese. We don’t understand Vietnamese and were very confused as to what they wanted us to do, so we were offering Google Translate to them so we could communicate, which was ignored by one staff member. We were woken and told we had arrived, and were rushed off the bus even though we were the only people on it. We were then put into a taxi we were told was free. It was only then I looked at my phone and realised we were still a 35 minute drive away from the drop off point. I showed the taxi driver the location of our homestay, and he drove for about 2 seconds before stopping and having communication with the bus company again. We were then told to get out of the taxi and back on the bus. The staff would not let us go to our seats we were originally sat in, and insisted that me and my friend both sat in one cabin, which had been previously occupied by someone else on the bus, who had been dropped earlier. So we were extremely uncomfortable for the last part of the journey. Upon getting off the bus for the last time, the driver asked to see where my hotel was (a two minute drive away). I don’t know why he asked for this as he sent us on our way anyway. I think the least they could have done after all the hassle, considering we were the only passengers left was drive us a further two minutes. Instead as two girls we had to walk 20 minutes in the rain and pitch black to our homestay.

Sarah WComfortable bus and friendly staff. There was only one stop 3.5-4 hours in to the journey so it was an uncomfortably long time to go without a toilet. Would be better if there were two short breaks.

Maia NA warning. We were dropped at 4.30am at Night Street restaurant phong nha and chased by viscous stray dogs! Terrifying experience. Our hotel was only 7 minutes walk up the road and no one else was getting off so it would have been better if they could have dropped us straight at the hotel. It was also boiling, the AC wasn’t good. The beds were not big enough for my 6ft3 husband. Had much better experiences on other sleeper busses.

Elliott ABus was 30 minutes late due to traffic however this was communicated with plenty of time, the bus was extremely comfortable with a bathroom on it. Plenty of space in the cabins with all appliances working. Driver was smooth and safe too. We got to Phong Nha on time.
