Ưu điểm Du lịch tàu hỏa
- Du lịch đường sắt là một giải pháp lý tưởng để tránh tắc nghẽn. Mặc dù đôi khi có thể xảy ra chậm trễ vì nhiều lý do, nhưng nói chung, giờ cao điểm, ngày cuối tuần hay sốt du lịch sẽ không thể làm hỏng thời gian của bạn khi đi đường sắt.
- Đặt vé tàu trực tuyến giúp bạn tiết kiệm rất nhiều thời gian. Đối với nhiều điểm đến, vé có thể được đặt 90 ngày trước ngày du lịch của bạn, điều này đưa việc lập kế hoạch lên một tầm cao mới. Tuy nhiên, giao dịch vào phút cuối cũng thường có sẵn. Bạn cũng không cần phải đến ga tàu để đặt chỗ – hãy làm điều đó ở bất cứ đâu bạn muốn.
- Thông thường, vé tàu rẻ hơn nhiều so với vé máy bay. Trên một số tuyến đường nhất định, thời gian di chuyển bằng tàu cao tốc ngang bằng hoặc thậm chí ngắn hơn du lịch hàng không nếu bạn tính đến thời gian ở sân bay để làm thủ tục an ninh và/hoặc hải quan.
- Rất thường là các ga đường sắt nằm ở trung tâm thành phố. Nó giúp bạn tiết kiệm rất nhiều thời gian để đến đích của bạn. Các ga đường sắt lâu đời thường có thêm điểm cộng là bầu không khí ở các tòa nhà lịch sử. Di chuyển đến/từ các ga như vậy có thể được coi là một điểm cộng xứng đáng trong toàn bộ kế hoạch du lịch của bạn.
- Bên cạnh việc tiết kiệm thời gian ban ngày cho những điều thú vị khác, một đêm trên tàu hỏa là một cách hay để cắt giảm chi phí khách sạn. Nếu chọn giường ngủ, bạn cũng có thể ngủ khá ngon. Chắc chắn tốt hơn so với trên một chiếc xe buýt giường nằm!
- Có những chuyến tàu sang trọng phục vụ một số tuyến đường, và đó chắc chắn là trải nghiệm bạn nên thử ít nhất một lần trong đời.
Nhược điểm Du lịch tàu hỏa
- Quãng đường càng dài – chuyến tàu càng lâu và nếu bạn phải đi một quãng đường đáng kể thì sẽ rất tốn thời gian. Vì vậy, đôi khi du lịch hàng không là một sự thay thế tốt hơn ngay cả khi tốn kém hơn.
- Các kết nối với phương tiện di chuyển tiếp theo của bạn nên được lên kế hoạch cẩn thận. Mặc dù thời gian biểu thường được thiết lập, nhưng sự chậm trễ và hủy bỏ luôn có thể xảy ra do nhiều lý do. Great service. It is worth to pay for priority support. The train ride from Kandy to Nanu Oya was an amazing experience. The train was late but that did not matter as this gave us more time to enjoy the landscape.

Overall great experience. Immediately after booking (34 days prior train departure) we received an email with a booking confirmation, however, it took very long until we received the ticket confirmation/voucher (11 days prior train departure). The shipping of tickets went smooth, however, we never received an email confirming the shipment of the tickets as it was mentioned in the ticket confirmation email.
So overall the train ride was superb, just a little bite nerve killing waiting for confirmation or hoping tickets will arrive:)

The views were amazing and the towns charming. I loved that the windows open right up making the cabin comfortable and aerated and great for photo taking.
Booking via 12go website saved us time and effort. The tickets delivered securely to our hotel too. Will definitely use 12go for future trips

The scenery was beautiful as you will have read about. Apart from the Ella rock views when leaving the station you see more of the mountains and tea estates sitting on the right if travelling from Ella to Kandy. This was however a very long slow trip of over six hours to go not much further than 150km. Our seats were at the front of the first class carriage and with one large suitcase jammed between me and the carriage end because it would not fit on the parcel shelf. Moreover each time the door opened at a station the train fumes would come into the carriage. You have to be a romantic to want to do this trip although many younger people seemed to enjoy hanging out of the doors taking selfies. I was only on this train because the one with the observation carriage was not running.
12Go however managed to get me the tickets enabling me to walk through the gate quickly and easily. I also received the money back for the ticket delivery to my hotel because they sent this ticket and another one together.
I would use 12Go again simply for peace of mind and being prepared.

Excellent service .. like clockwork. I ordered 3 sets of tickets and had them delivered to my hotel. I was refused the delivery charge for two sets of tickets as they were out in the same envelope.. very impressive.
Don't bank on definite train times as these can vary from that specified.

Train was over 1 hour late which meant the last hour was in darkness - suggest you warn travellers about this in future. Also, I cannot understand how you can charge 20USD for a ticket with a face value of 7 USD?

We bought tickets for the 1st class Kandy-Nuwara Eliya train. These tickets must be purchased in advance, and then the e-ticket must be changed to regular tickets at the station, or order delivery to the hotel. 12 Asia worked perfectly, bought and brought tickets to the hotel. When we arrived in Kandy, an envelope with tickets was waiting for us. Also, before the trip, we had some questions, they helped us to understand everything. Thank you for this service.

Very beautiful train ride! But after speaking to some locals we decided to get in at halfway instead of Kandy to Elle. So we reduced the trip from 6 to 3 hrs which was perfect for us.
Booking process was very easy. We got the tickets posted to our hotel at a fee but they texted to make sure we got the tickets which was good. You pay a bit more than locals but very happy to do that for the convenience of it!

We have used 12go.asia on a number of occasions during this current trip through Asia and, until now, have been entirely satisfied with the service and booking process. However, it didn’t go so well for this trip.
We made this booking on 1st April for a train journey which wasn’t taking place until 1st December. Whilst the receipt stated that they couldn’t guarantee getting exactly the trip and class that we requested, we figured that, given the amount of notice, 12go.asia would be on it on the day the tickets were released to ensure we got the ones we requested. We received communications on 7th November telling us that we hadn’t got the times we requested for either our outward or return journeys. We wanted an early outward journey and a late return and got the exact opposite, effectively losing two days of our stay in Galle.
We were even more disappointed when we learnt from other travellers that they had purchased tickets for the trains we wanted from the railway station and first class were still available!
There was also a lot of confusion as I was sent itineraries with different times and ending up getting very frustrated as I tried to work our exactly what trains we were actually on.
The journey itself went very smoothly, the train was late departing Colombo and arriving into Galle but, as we were already 7 hours later than we wanted to be, this became irrelevant. The First Class carriage is very comfortable and the journey along the coast is very pretty.

This review is based on the purchase of tickets and support provided by 12GoAsia. Unfortunately there was a country wide rail strike so we could not actually take the train. The support and communication provided by 12GoAsia was excellent. I would certainly use them again.

Great service. Tickets were delivered to our hotel as promised. There is an enormous mark up on the tickets but you pay for the convenience of getting the tickets you want, delivered to the location of your choosing as opposed to collection.
