Fördelar med att resa med buss
- Bussar är det bästa valet för att ta sig till destinationer som inte är anslutna med tåg eller flyg. Bussnätet täcker ofta nästan hela landet, och deras rutter är väl och sedan länge etablerade.
- Till skillnad från flygresor och ibland tågresor behöver man inte komma till busstationen långt i förväg för att ta bussen. Incheckningen, även på internationella linjer, tar inte mycket tid. Bagagetillstånden är vanligtvis mycket resenärsvänliga, och avgiften för extra bagage, om det finns gränser, är normalt inte särskilt hög.
- Bussbiljetter kan vara mer prisvärda jämfört med flyg- eller snabbtågsbiljetter. Det finns alltid ett urval av biljettklasser för alla plånböcker. Billigare standardalternativ kan vara lite långsamma och inte erbjuda högsta komfort, men ändå acceptabla och föra dig till din destination. På längre sträckor ingår toaletter eller toalettstopp samt snacks, vatten och ibland toalettartiklar och filtar nästan alltid i priset.
- Om du är beredd att spendera mer pengar erbjuder vissa VIP-bussar sittplatser som är jämförbara med business class på ett flygplan med breda mjuka liggbara säten, filtar, färre passagerare och många andra förmåner för att göra din resa till en trevlig resa.
Nackdelar med att resa med buss
- Nyare bussterminaler ligger ofta utanför staden, nära större motorvägar, så att bussarna kan undvika trafikstockningar i staden. Tyvärr kan det också skapa extra utmaningar för resenärerna. Att ta sig till en sådan terminal kan vara ett problem eftersom det på vissa destinationer finns restriktioner för vilka fordon som får köra in i terminalen, och du måste använda särskilda transportmedel för att ta dig dit. Detta leder till högre kostnader eftersom priserna kan vara uppdrivna. Räkna också med extra tid om du reser under rusningstid, särskilt om du inte är bekant med trafiksituationen vid din utgångspunkt.
- Bussar är förmodligen det transportmedel som oftare går över tiden än tåg eller flyg. De är starkt beroende av vägsituationen som ibland kan vara oförutsägbar - olyckor, vägarbeten, omvägar osv. Teribil. It was a bad experience,the website hasn’t sent me the ticket properly,only the itinerary and I’ve been asked to print that out. Aircon not working and bus delayed. For the entire trip, the air con wasn't fully functional. It was a long, hot trip! The bus was delayed by 45 minutes on a four hour journey. Some of the delay was due to roadworks, but also a lot of time was spent on delivering some car parts to various locations along the way?

There was a very weak AC, which the driver only turned on when I asked him after a couple of hours. The bus was relatively clean for a balkan bus. There was a very weak AC, which the driver only turned on when I asked him after a couple of hours. The was not WI FI, even though I paid 36 euros for a ticket with wi fi. The was only one stop after 4 hours for 10 minutes. The driver stopped for himself a couple of times to buy pastries or just to talk on the phone. The he driver itself was rude and charges 2 euros everyone for their luggge, on top of the 36 euros ticket! There was no indication on the ticket that we will additionally be charged for our luggage. Very bad experience.

Took us to the wrong bus stop. Driver helped us to find a taxi driver when we ended up in the wrong place. Staff at traveling.com took a month to say that the issue was resolved and it wasn't. The 'resolution' was that the bus took us to the destination city so we were not enitlited to a resolution and that they were not able to contact the operator. To be booking fares with an operator surely you need to be able to contact them. This all meant that we booked a hotel in the wrong part of town and had to pay for two taxis.

The air conditioner of the bus was broken or very weak, so the driver had to open the door almost all the way from Tirana to Budva, which was about 5 hours and 30 minutes of drive… could you imagine how dangerous it could be?!?! And it was summer time, so it was like staying in an oven for the entire trip, very uncomfortable.

It was a living hell there was no air conditioner. We took a bus from Kotor to Tirana and it was one of the worst travel experiences we’ve ever had. There was no air conditioning at all, and the trip lasted 8 hours — more than 2 hours longer than scheduled. The heat inside the bus was unbearable, and at times we felt like we might suffer from heatstroke. It was extremely uncomfortable, exhausting, and completely unacceptable for such a long journey. Would not recommend this company to anyone.

Angry dangerous driver, 8 hr trip, no aircon. Most of the passengers did their best to cope. The driver made at least 20 phonecalls while driving, so unsafe, also illegal. Just check his phone log. He only allowed one stop for toilet break at 1.45pm, after we got on the bus at 8 am, then acted like he was doing us a favour. He argued with a passenger while driving- that should never happen, he should either ignore them or stop. The aircon was not working. Extremely uncomfortable and unhealthy. I will use a different bus service next time.

Awful traffic. The bus was easy to find despite the bad reviews of Tirana bus station, and the journey was smooth and the coach clean with air con. terrible traffic a four hour journey took six hours and no access to toilet. Also no driver change or break so driver did six hours behind the wheel this would not be legal in most western countries. Fatigue is a real issue.

We had to pay an additional €2 per ticket in CASH as the "station fee". Meaning we had to pay €5 in ATM fees to get cash out. The bus was 40mins late picking us up, arrived over an hour late, and dropped us off 20 mins away from our destination with little explanation other than "police".

Expected a direct bus ride as that is what we booked. The mini bus was full of friendly people. We weren’t told why we were taking this mini bus only that we would go and meet our big bus… never told where or why. paid our €2 luggage fee then basically waited to see where we ended up… We got to Podgorica and still no one told us what was happening just to go to information. Luckily the lady there was helpful and she printed out another ticket to Budva . but then we had to pay luggage fee again… this trip was booked as a direct bus… it was far from that. Very disappointing service from Old Town Travel Company.

It was 8 hours in hell. The air-condition did not work, so it was extremely hot in the bus. That they stopped in the city center instead of the bus terminal outside the city. Great trip. The bus was clean and comfortable. I was a bit worried after reading other reviews but there was nothing to worry about. The bus conductor was helpful and informative. The driver was clean and careful (no smoking like on other reviews). The bus was delayed about 1 hour (but I guess that can be expected).

The driver left us in a location that wasn't the end destination. When we arrived there we a lot of "taxis" waiting for us to leave the bus. Most of them weren't real taxis and the driver was basically pushing people to go with them. There was a couple that asked about going to the supposed end destination (Tirana East Gate) and the bus driver told them to get one of the taxis, and after they said they didn't have money for it, he told them to get a bus. Terrible experience and didn't feel safe at all.

Lovely bus driver, got us there only 30 mins late (amazing for Balkans standards). Decently clean bus, aircon existed, pit stop for snacks. Aircon wasn’t the coldest, 30 euros is more expensive than my coach across my country so pretty expensive for a coach. Literally our most expensive trip (and we had flights) yet one of our shortest ones.

Dealt with an issue. We were given precise instructions for pick- up in Rruga Teuta including GPS coordinates. The bus went past at the correct time. We waved to the driver. He saw us but kept going. A little time later a car came and the driver asserted We were at the wrong place. No point arguing because now we were drenched and cold after a wild storm blew in. After that all was fine, but it is good that the mistake (not ours) was corrected. As above on boarding instructions.

Tirana, Albani to Kotor, Montenegro. comfortable ride, value for money. 1. The inside of the bus needs to be cleaned better, windows were dirty and amenities of the seat were broken. 2. Reaching time at Kotor was 2 PM, but, reached only at 3 PM due to passengers missing and road congestion near Kotor.

Scheduled breaks necessary! It was easy to find the bus in Tirana, and the ride was fast. I would have liked to know more about the stops. The bus stopped in Shkodër for 10 minutes to take new passengers, but without a toilet possibility. Then again, there was a toilet break just 30 minutes before Podgorica. Why not scheduled toilet breaks? During our stop in Shkodër the driver had given our seats to New passengers and even moved our belongings with which we had marked our reservation. There were other empty seats.

Bus was so very punctual. I loved that. The driver was kind and really helpful as well. My seat was broken and held upright by a seat belt. Yep. One that would’ve been used for a rider. It’s a true value ride but I made it there safely. Bus was smelly for some reason.

Cheap Trip…but not great service. The bus driver was very prompt and left on time and arrived in Albania exactly on time. The bus driver smoked in the bus and you could smell the smoke. It was not good. The bus had a bad smell like wet carpet or wet seats. It was a really old bus but thankfully didn’t break down. The bus driver didn’t help anyone with their luggage as we got to the station. He opened the luggage door and that was it. Did not pull one piece of luggage out. Younger passengers had to help older passengers. It was horrible and sad. Maybe that’s a practice but is so, it’s a horrible one.
