Автобусы-слиперы (спальные, ночные) или VIP хороши для длинных и ночных переездов. Такие автобусы могут быть оснащены более широкими мягкими раскладывающимися креслами, иногда с функцией массажа, или спальными полками; билет может включать одеяла, безалкогольные напитки, снеки или более плотную еду прямо на борту либо в кафе во время остановок на размять ноги, сходить в туалет или заправиться. Если выбирать ночные автобусы, то можно сэкономить на стоимости комнаты в отеле, но тут стоит выбирать правильный класс автобуса, чтобы провести ночь с максимальным комфортом. Порой даже для не самых длинных поездок стоит заплатить чуть больше за VIP, потому как на некоторых маршрутам ВИПы идут порой в два раза быстрее обычных автобусов.
Едем на автобусе: плюсы и минусы
Плюсы путешествия на автобусе
- Автобус – лучший вариант, чтобы добраться до локаций, которые не связаны жд веткой или авиасообщением. Автобусная сеть часто охватывает всю страну, а маршруты давно сформированы и обкатаны.
- В отличие от авиаперелетов и иногда – жд поездок приезжать на автостанцию сильно заранее необходимости нет. Регистрация, даже на международных автобусных рейсах, как правило, не занимает много времени. Допуски по багажу тоже весьма и весьма приятные, а если лимиты на вес багажа все-таки установлены, то доплата за перевес почти всегда совсем невысокая.
- Билеты на автобус обычно более доступны, чем билеты на самолет или скорый поезд. Разнообразие классов и тарифов ориентировано на любой кошелек. Самые дешевые варианты, возможно, не самый быстрый способ прибыть в пункт назначения, но свою работу автобусы в любом случае делают. На более длинных маршрутах есть либо туалеты в салоне, либо остановки, билет включает снеки, воду, иногда туалетные принадлежности, одеяла и прочие полезные и приятные вещи.
- Если вы готовы потратить чуть больше, то некоторые ВИПы по комфорту и обслуживанию могут вполне соперничать с бизнес-классом на самолетах: широкие мягкие раскладывающиеся кресла, одеяла, меньшее, по сравнению с обычными автобусами, число пассажиров и прочие бонусы очень скрашивают впечатления от поездки.
Минусы путешествия на автобусе
- Новые междугородние автобусные терминалы нередко расположены на окраине города у оживленных шоссе, чтобы автобусы не вставали в городские пробки. Для путешественника в этом не только плюс, но и минус. Добираться до таких терминалов бывает непросто или долго, плюс в некоторых локациях обслуживать терминалы разрешается не любому транспорту – т.е. даже некоторые службы такси туда не допускают. Как результат – спекулятивные цены на перевозку. Если нужно выезжать в часы-пик, не забывайте заложить дополнительное время на поездку.
- Автобус, наверное, вид транспорта, который наиболее подвержен задержкам и нарушению расписания – если сравнивать с самолетами или поездами. Причин может быть великое множество – от ДТП до ремонта дороги, объезда и т.д. Ситуация ухудшается в дни государственных праздников, длинные выходные, высокий сезон. Учитывайте этот момент и не планируйте коротких стыковок.
- Если вы планируете поездку по одному из наиболее востребованных маршрутов и/или в высокий сезон, стоит озаботиться заблаговременным бронированием билетов. Учитывайте, что просто прийти на автовокзал и уехать ближайшим рейсом возможно далеко не всегда: билеты вполне могут быть распроданы, так что планируйте заранее.

Ältere aber super komfortabler Bus. Sitze ließen sich super weit zurückstellen, wir bekamen eine Decke, Wasser und einen Snack.
Der Schaffner sagte sogar Bescheid als wir da waren. Würde ich jederzeit wieder nehmen.

Service for changing the date is difficult and take 24 hours ahead to change. In the car gate (ticket selling centers), customers can change the date before 4 hours of travel time.

There were no informations about obligatory masks (due to covid that has ended a year ago...). When I entered the bus the bus attendant made me buy a mask. It was just 10 bahts but if they require masks it should have been stated earlier.
For some reason the bas was extremally humid making even the blankets a little bit wet

Comfortable but old. They need more buses to meet the demand of the number of people who need to get to the area. Very hard to book these days. I booked 3 days in advance and it was almost full. Don't serve peanuts as well, (I have a peanut allergy)

The seats were comfortable enough, but the aircon was far too high and I was freezing throughout the whole journey. Someone also came to sleep at our feet, which was very uncomfortable and bizarre. Also, at every stop throughout the night, the lights came on and woke us up.

To Drive with Nightbus ist a very good Thing.
The seats are very komfortabel and anybody have a Lotof place top relax or sleep.

For someone that suffers travel sickness, no lie but this was the best bus journey ever! A very simple experience from booking online, collecting the tickets and hopping onto the bus for 6 hours. The chairs reclined quite a bit (if only airlines could do the same!) and your legs go forward/up. Water and peanuts are provided. Blankets are also provided when it gets late. We stopped just over half way for a 30 minute food/toilet break. It really didn’t feel like a 6 hour journey.

It was already late, and bus came an additional hour late. Not a good experience with children. Busride itself was ok, albeit too many stops on the road and too much light. It served its purpose, nothing else.

We were five minutes late leaving and one hour late arriving in chiangmai but that was no problem. the ride was very safe very clean bus. Good strong air conditioning but for those that get a bit cold they provided clean fresh blankets also a bottle of water and a snack were provided. The bus stopped at eight or nine different little bus stations to pick people up but again this was no problem it was an overnight bus I was able to sleep two and three hours here and there and arrived feeling fresh and not tired or worn out I will definitely use this particular bus service again in the future

Very friendly staff on bus, provided us with water and a blanket. Good organization: the staff got our luggage already off even before we were off the bus. Would recommend!

Travelled from Australia, all local people very helpful & friendly. Comfortable 5 hour ride, refreshment & water. Coach staff prompt & always checking on customer comfort, would travel by coach again. Great scenic country trip!

Départ mais arrivée 5h plus tard !!!! 15h de transport .... et heureusement que j etais large pour le transport suivant ... et quasiment pas de pauses suffisantes.. beaucoup d arrets et la lumiere s allume à chaque fois. Donc difficile de dormir et 15h c est long ... je le referais pas :) mais bus confortable

The seat was good and spacious, the bus arrived to the destination earlier than planned. No chick feeling compared to some but nothing to complain besides the lights were fully up almost on every stop during the night.

30 min late on departure and 1h30 on arrival. We were supposed to arrived at 22:55... and finally arrived at 0:30! We paid for a VIP express bus, the one we had wasn’t any of it! I traveled by bus in Asia many times and this trip was really disappointing... should have taken the 285baths Wintour bus...

Not recommended based on my personal experience - Bus arrived 30 min late. it made many stops along the way - several at Utradit, Lampun, and Lampang, not so much an express to Chiang Mai. No cleaning before next passenger - rubbish/leftovers from the passenger before me and ants were visible too. We arrived at Chiang Mai 1.5hrs way passed my scheduled arrival time.
Importantly, we arrrived at Chiang Mai. The only plus, luggage is tag to your seat number so it doesn't get mixed up.

El bus nos recogió mas de una hora tarde de la terminal, por lo cual retrasó todo nuestro itinerario, y nos obligó a esperar más de lo debido. En la terminal estuvimos muchas horas y cobraban por entrar al baño! Además estaba sucio y cobraban aparte por el papel higiénico.
Lo bueno es que nos dieron una manta, una botellita de agua y unas pocas galletas. Aunque la basura del pasajero anterior no había sido retirada.

Either we did not stop in Kamphaeng Phet or I dozed and the attendant did not wake me. Either way I spent the rest of the night in the Tak bus station and got to Kamphaeng Phet the next morning. Not a good experience nor good service for a long and very late trip.

Generally everything was fine. The bus came to Udon Thani Central Plaza at 11:00 only 15 min behind, arrived Phitsanulok on time. Safety drive. Only thing I really didn’t understand was necessity of check in one hour before departure time, because there was no check-in counter in Central Plaza of Udon Thani. It would be better also, if we could ride the bus without printing ticket. I think it would be enough to show the ticket in smartphone

The staff and the bus crew were super helpful anticipating our needs. We were traveling with 2 bicycles and after some minor disassembly they were stored safely on the bus, along with all our bike panniers. Thanks!

Zwar etwas unbequemer als ein Schlafplatz im Nachtzug dafür aber schneller. Sehr viel Platz vergleichsweise zu deutschen Reisebussen. Für jeden gab es ein kostenloses Wasser und eine Packung Kekse.

it was almost like first class on a plane...ok, maybe not exactly...but they gave us water and snacks, and the seats reclined nicely...I slept a good bit of the way...just remember to bring a pillow and something warm...they give you a blanket, but it can get really cold
