Плюсы путешествия на автобусе

  • Автобус – лучший вариант, чтобы добраться до локаций, которые не связаны жд веткой или авиасообщением. Автобусная сеть часто охватывает всю страну, а маршруты давно сформированы и обкатаны.
  • В отличие от авиаперелетов и иногда – жд поездок приезжать на автостанцию сильно заранее необходимости нет. Регистрация, даже на международных автобусных рейсах, как правило, не занимает много времени. Допуски по багажу тоже весьма и весьма приятные, а если лимиты на вес багажа все-таки установлены, то доплата за перевес почти всегда совсем невысокая.
  • Билеты на автобус обычно более доступны, чем билеты на самолет или скорый поезд. Разнообразие классов и тарифов ориентировано на любой кошелек. Самые дешевые варианты, возможно, не самый быстрый способ прибыть в пункт назначения, но свою работу автобусы в любом случае делают. На более длинных маршрутах есть либо туалеты в салоне, либо остановки, билет включает снеки, воду, иногда туалетные принадлежности, одеяла и прочие полезные и приятные вещи.
  • Если вы готовы потратить чуть больше, то некоторые ВИПы по комфорту и обслуживанию могут вполне соперничать с бизнес-классом на самолетах: широкие мягкие раскладывающиеся кресла, одеяла, меньшее, по сравнению с обычными автобусами, число пассажиров и прочие бонусы очень скрашивают впечатления от поездки.

Минусы путешествия на автобусе

  • Новые междугородние автобусные терминалы нередко расположены на окраине города у оживленных шоссе, чтобы автобусы не вставали в городские пробки. Для путешественника в этом не только плюс, но и минус. Добираться до таких терминалов бывает непросто или долго, плюс в некоторых локациях обслуживать терминалы разрешается не любому транспорту – т.е. даже некоторые службы такси туда не допускают. Как результат – спекулятивные цены на перевозку. Если нужно выезжать в часы-пик, не забывайте заложить дополнительное время на поездку.
  • Автобус, наверное, вид транспорта, который наиболее подвержен задержкам и нарушению расписания – если сравнивать с самолетами или поездами. Причин может быть великое множество – от ДТП до ремонта дороги, объезда и т.д. Ситуация ухудшается в дни государственных праздников, длинные выходные, высокий сезон. Учитывайте этот момент и не планируйте коротких стыковок.
  • Если вы планируете поездку по одному из наиболее востребованных маршрутов и/или в высокий сезон, стоит озаботиться заблаговременным бронированием билетов. Учитывайте, что просто прийти на автовокзал и уехать ближайшим рейсом возможно далеко не всегда: билеты вполне могут быть распроданы, так что планируйте заранее.

Very comfortable and spacious. Two toilet and food stops between Siem Reap and Phnom Penh. We also were given free water! Only downside was the USB ports didn’t seem to work.

You get what you pay for. The bus kept on stopping to pick up and drop off locals. It is an old bus so be prepared to not be super comfortable.

Seats were large and comfy, not sleepers but plenty of leg room, time was almost as scheduled, stops were frequent, AC was cold. Worth the cost.

Bus had comfortable seats (in a one two configuration, not two two), good air-conditioning, and my seatbelt worked. I would recommend. In Siem Reap I was assigned a back seat, but asked to change in the office and was given a better seat.

We did route Siem Reap to Phnom Penh, at the beginning we were worry about the trip because was quite cheap compare to others companies but the experience was excellent, great bus, we left on time and we arrived an hour and half before scheduled, highly recommended!

Bus wasn't the best. Sleeper seats. NOT beds. One seat on top of the other. 3 rows of seats. Narrow aisels. Thin blanket provided. Small bottle of water. Feet didn't have much room. Overall good for a 1-6 hour journey max.

Overall, the bus was comfortable and we arrived with less than an hour delay in Siem Reap. The bus stops is you have to pee. You just have to ask :)

Driver was good. Bus little bit old. Bed's were decent. We had 4 or 5 stops so enough to go to the toilet(even some places were only bushes).

Don’t sit in the back! It became so hot so soon. Tried to open the window but the driver came really mad to the people in the back to close the window. It was horrible. He also stopped many times to pick up locals on the way. At one point we had a family of 4 next to us on a 2 seater. You get what you pay for obviously.. seats were nice and comfortable tho.

The back of the bus had hot air coming thru the floor ventilation. It was very hot, while the front was ok. Bus driver didn't understand pe care to understand when I tried to explain.

The journey was great, chairs super comfortable. But we made so many stops. Every 30 to 45 minute we had a break. We arrived more than an hour later because of all the stops.

Great experience. Were driven in a 11seater people carrier style car. Could have fit up to 10 passengers, but there were only 4 of us so it was like having a private hire car. Great driver, friendly and drove safely. AC worked, comfortable seats, stopped at a service station along the way. Was great value for money. Would recommend if you’re doing a similar trip from Sihanoukville to Phnom Penh.

We arrived at the supposed pick up location prior to the departure time. We were told the 8.30am bus was not running, so they put us on the 9.30am one. They then put us on a tuktuk and drove us back into town to the Capitol bus office, where we sat waiting for a while. Then a mini van came and drove us to another location where the coach was. We didn’t feel very safe as there was no communication telling us where we were going or what was happening. The bus itself was good, it had ac, foot rests and reclining seats. The bus stopped every 2 hours for a toilet break - bear in mind these toilets are Asian style squat ones with no toilet paper or flushes. What was slightly annoying was the driver stopped at random points to drop off parcels and pick up/drop off locals at unofficial stops (the bus was meant to be direct). We arrived at around 4pm, so it was 6h30min ride. The transport service was provided by Capitol buses not Mey Hong.

Good service. Departure on time. Enough stops for toilet and food, even a longer lunch break. On the down side due to these stops and traffic we arrived with a delay of around 1,5 hours. I feel like it would be better to put a realistic travel time in the description. Don't have anything to complain about though.

Bus was on time but only due to heavy traffic in Phnom Penh we had a delay. We had three stops which was great. Yes it is an old bus bus chair are very comfortable. Instead of 4 rows, now only 3.

The bus trip took 10 hours with the bus stopping die to engine problems. I felt sorry for the driver, because he had to fix the bus himself. However, it took him the last stop to fix it, which was 37 klms from Siem Reap. He was communicating with us office regarding the engine problem, so maybe they weren't so helpful to him? The bus was old, you can tell by the interior and the seats. If the bus was working properly, abd we arrived closer to our arrival time, then I may have given a better review.

Trip was fine. Bus broke down twice. Driver performed heroic feats. Crawling under the engine with a hammer. Got it going. Amazing work by the driver. But a demerit to the trip. Did delay us arriving by an hour. But it wasn't a big problem. Seats did not recline, but they were large. There was plenty of space. A crew unloaded all luggage to the office at the end, which was good service. No problem. Got us there.

They didn't launch a bus because there were not enough people, instead, they took me to a partner company. Everything was well-organized. Both companies were fair and correct, didn't try to charge me even 1 cent extra. Good and smooth service, I wish I could give a 5 star to the other company as well.

We had only 3 seats in a row so the Bus was very comfortable and spacious, the driver was driving save, the check in people were very nice, we left on time But! Some of the seats didn’t hold upright and we had a super long service stop to change the tyres and check the pressure?!? Plus million stops on the way plus dinner stop for another half an hour?!? and obviously in super overpriced restaurant! There was very cold ac - people were complaining and they just told us NO it is not possible to higher the temperature! No seat belts for many seats!!! We arrived 2h late because of all the unnecessary stops!
