Niet alle busjes bieden topcomfort, voldoende beenruimte of bagageruimte, maar deze twee punten compenseren dat wel. In tegenstelling tot treinen of grotere bussen kan je bij busjes zelden kiezen uit verschillende ticketklassen. Alle zitplaatsen zijn hetzelfde - noem het standaard, VIP of wat dan ook. Wat wel kan verschillen is het type busje zelf. Sommige busjes bieden slechts plaats aan 9-10 passagiers. Voor reizigers betekent dit bredere stoelen, meer ruimte en een comfortabelere reis. Minibusjes voor maximaal 15 passagiers zijn ook goed, maar wees bereid om beenruimte op te offeren en vaak ook ruimte voor je baggage. Soms kan het een goed idee zijn om twee stoelen in plaats van één te kopen voor een comfortabelere rit - maar het loont de moeite om bij de exploitant na te gaan of dit op je route is toegestaan. Voordelen van minibusjes
- Busjes kunnen de enige manier zijn om sommige van de meest afgelegen bestemmingen te bereiken, kleinere steden of dorpen die niet verbonden zijn met grote bussen of treinen.
- Busjes kunnen je ook naar sommige eilanden brengen die met het vasteland verbonden zijn door grote autoveerboten die door grote bussen niet kunnen worden gebruikt.
- Omdat busjes kleiner zijn dan grote bussen, zijn busjes wendbaarder op de weg. Dit resulteert soms in een kortere reistijd, vooral als je bestemming niet ver weg is.
- Hoewel busjes onderweg een officiële halte hebben, kunnen ze je ook op een meer geschikte plaats laten uitstappen - je hoeft niet naar de terminal te gaan, vraag het gewoon aan je chauffeur. Merk op dat het niet altijd mogelijk is, maar in veel gevallen zullen ze meewerken. Het kan je zowel tijd als geld besparen die je anders te voet of per taxi van de terminal zou hebben besteed.
Nadelen van minibusjes
- Busjes met meer passagiers kunnen behoorlijk krap aanvoelen. Verwacht beperkte ruimte voor je benen en ellebogen. Sommige busjes beperken de bagage voor één ticket tot één stuk. Als je meer tassen, koffers of rugzakken hebt, kan je gevraagd worden een apart ticket te kopen voor je bagage, waardoor de reis twee keer zo duur wordt.
- Niet alle busjes rijden op schema. Op bepaalde routes vertrekken de busjes alleen als ze vol zijn. Vraag dit na bij je vervoerder voordat je je ticket koopt, anders kan je veel langer dan verwacht moeten wachten tot het busje vol is.
- Niet elke chauffeur houdt zich aan de verkeersregels. Sommige bedrijven installeren snelheidscontrole-eenheden op hun voertuigen, maar het komt niet zelden voor dat dit apparaat de hele rit piept terwijl de bestuurder er niet op let. Vergeet niet je veiligheidsgordel om te doen als je met een busje reist. Houd er wel rekening mee dat je soms goed moet zoeken om de veiligheidsgordel te vinden.
- Voor wie gevoelig is voor reisziekte is er een goed advies: neem je medicijnen een half uur voor je reis met een minibusje in, vooral als je route bochtige stukken omvat. In een busje is de kans groter dat je je reisziek voelt dan in een bus.

We arrived one hour before departure for checkin and were seated in an earlier Van so we had no waiting time - great. The seats had no legroom - uncomfortable but expected, so not a problem for three hours drive. We booked a luggage seat which was not used - but better having it than needing it. Van arrived on time, driver told us when to get off.

The driver was very helpful and friendly. He made sure that someone was coming to pick me up at Pak Chong and waited with me. However, we left Mochit New Van Terminal 30 minutes late without any explanation, and at the end we arrived at Pak Chong with 1h late. So, for a trip of almost 2h40 on the road normally, we took 4h (and the traffic conditions were very good). In addition, it was written on my e-ticket to come 1h in advance, which I still don't understand why. It just made me wait 1h30 in total at the van terminal in the end.

Driver very helpful ; when reached Pak Chong he stopped for us at a taxi stand and suggested we take a taxi there to our hotel. He did not take us straight to the Van Station. Beware : there is no Grab service in Pak Chong.

I booked the 2 pm van back to BKK ; asked if earlier travel available ; was put on the 1.30 pm bus - had comfortable ride into BKK ; the driver was very helpful with luggage in and out of the bus - I bought a luggage seat ; note to fellow travellers - from Pak Chong Mr " Pylon " at 086 721 5011 can provide good support for your ride to your hotel & whole day criss-crossing & stopping wherever you want in Khao Yai National Park 8am - 6pm for a reasonable price. Check him out - tell him Lee & his son from Malaysia recommended him.

They found us at the terminal, directed us to the waiting area. The price was better than taking a private taxi. The Van was a little hot in the back but there was a fan. The A/C could have been better. We arrived at our destination earlier than expected.

The driver forced us to take the last row, but the van wasn't full at that moment; the seats were terribly bad and uncomfortable. Therefore, I requested to shift to the bus on my return trip, but the customer service replied me there were no bus services on the day; however, since I was not getting on the van on time for my return trip, I instantly bought the tickets and took a bus at the departure stop.

After exactly three hours, I was at Mochit station. We started 30 Minutes before the planned and scheduled departure- But since 12go asia recommended to be at the departure Place at least one hour before - it was no Problem ;)
I even only had a e-ticket! Everything worked in the typical thai way perfectly

Comfortable journey that left on time. It was slightly confusing to figure out the right bus at first, but all was well in the end. One quick stop off for the toilet and refuel which is all you needed. Made it there in under 3 hours. We were lucky with our big backpacks that the bus was not full. But this could have been a problem if it was.

Die Fahrt an sich war gut. Was ich wirklich nicht schön fand, das auf diesem Gelände kaum jemand zu finden ist, der einem Bereit ist zu sagen wo der Bus abfährt. Da sind 150 Abfahrbuchten, überwiegend in Thai beschriftet. Genug Personal was da rumläuft oder sitzt. Völlig unverständlich warum man da wie blöd sucht, bis man jemanden findet der Antwortet oder selbst fündig wird.

Usual lack of english. We waited another half hour after planned departure but arrived perfectly on time. Dropoff Location was not exactly the bus terminal so you would have had to walk aprox. 5-10 min to get there but this doesn't really matter if you are getting a taxi to the city.

Once in the van station, we found the terminal easily. The moment we walked in, a man waved at us and rushed us into a van that was already leaving. This was 70 minutes before our departure time. We got into an empty van on the move without really knowing if it was the right one. Very confusing. After that, a few stops to pick up people. Checking the route online we found out we were going the right way. The rest of the trip went well, airco is good and we were dropped before the final stop and closer to our hotel which was handy. There was also a stop for toilet and snacks. In general a good experience and around one hour earlier in the destination, however, communication and welcoming could be better.

Even if at first it seems difficult to find the minibus, people help you a lot and finally it was easy. You absolutely need to be more than one hour before the scheduled time of departure as we left one hour before expected.

After many stops during the first 30 minutes, the van broke down. After one hour without information on what happened or what the solution for our trip was, another van picked us up. From then, it was a very fast trip, but in total we were 2 hours delayed.

Okay, nothing special. Typical Thai van, typical Thai driver. One toiletstop, but that''s enough. We took a local bus to the Khao San area from the Mochit station for 15 Baht per person. Easy.

Nous avons été déçu. Le chauffeur s est arrêté 3 fois en se garant n importe où pour prendre des passagers qui n avaient sans doute rien a voir avec le trajet ! Ça sent la magouille ! De plus il ne nous a pas déposé à l hôtel...il a fallu marcher avec nos bagages ! Enfin...l état du véhicule était moyen et nous avons dû payer un supplément pour nos bagages.

We kwamen aan op de afgesproken plaats,naast het aangeduide hotel en konden meteen in het busje stappen. ,Ook al was het nog te vroeg volgens ons geboekte uur. Vriendelijke chauffeur dit keer. Halverwege plaspauze. Aangekomen in Morchit (stopplaats)Bangkok kregen we nog tips hoe we verder naar de metro geraakten..Er waren ook taxi's die je eventueel verder konden vervoeren'

Very bad organised. First time of all our trips that we are disapointed. The driver was very rude. He did not understand any English. He dropped us on a place without any explanation. We had to find out by ourselfes to go to KhaoYai. Never ever go back like this
