It was overall a very nice and comfortable trip but the very negative point was the AC way too strong for us. We were freezing at some point even with the blankets and some extra ones that we took from other empty seats. A part from the extreme cold on the bus, the rest was good. And the timing was perfect.

We took the night train from Bangkok to Lampang and everything went really smoothly. The platform sent our tickets by email and through the app, with all the information clearly indicated. The train actually arrived and departed about 15 minutes earlier than scheduled! The journey itself was very pleasant — we managed to sleep quite well. The carriage had a few power outlets (though a bit hidden 😉), the staff were absolutely lovely, and there was food and drinks available on board. The toilets stayed clean from start to finish, which was a great surprise. The train is far from modern, but that’s part of its charm. The air conditioning worked perfectly, the sheets were clean, and overall it was a comfortable and memorable way to travel. Highly recommend this experience!

Overall excellent experience. I had expected luggage to be taken from us and put on the train, this did not happen. We had to haul 6 bags (for 5 people) and our backpacks onto the train and try and store them. There was a little room under the lower bunks but not enough for everyone. Some passengers left theirs in the isle, which wasn't awful but not great. We had one or kids sleep with an adult and used the extra bunk to store most of our bags. The bunks were wider than expected but only about 2 meters long. At 6ft 2in laying straight it was tight, but I slept well on my side slightly fetal. Skip the offered breakfast, I'm not a picky eater but it was not worth the 190THB. Overall I would absolutely do this again.
