Recuerda que, en algunos casos, no se pueden reservar billetes de primera clase para trayectos cortos (de un par de horas) que formen parte de un itinerario largo de tren. Sin embargo, una litera de segunda clase, que incluso puede ser blanda, es una buena alternativa si tu destino se alcanza en 4 o 5 horas. Revisa lo que está incluido en el precio. Los viajes nocturnos pueden incluir, pero no siempre, la ropa de cama, las toallas, el agua, los refrigerios y los artículos de aseo. Es bueno llevar ropa de abrigo a bordo, en caso de que el aire acondicionado o la calefacción no estén adaptados a tus necesidades.

  • Viajar en tren es una solución ideal para evitar el tráfico. Si bien pueden ocurrir retrasos por diversos motivos, en general, las horas punta, los fines de semana largos y las temporadas altas no te impedirán llegar a tiempo si viajas en tren.
  • Puedes ahorrarte mucho tiempo reservando tus billetes de tren online. Se pueden reservar billetes para muchos destinos hasta 90 días antes de la fecha de viaje, esto te permite planificar con comodidad. También hay ofertas de última hora y no es necesario ir a la estación de tren: reserva fácilmente desde donde quiera que te encuentres.
  • En muchos casos, los billetes de tren son más económicos que los de avión. Para determinadas rutas, la duración del viaje en tren de alta velocidad es igual a la de un avión o, incluso, el trayecto completo dura menos, si se tiene en cuenta el tiempo que se pasa en el aeropuerto para el check-in y para los trámites de seguridad y/o aduanas.
  • A menudo, las estaciones de tren están situadas en el centro de la ciudad. Esto puede ahorrarte tiempo en el traslado a tu alojamiento. Además, las estaciones de tren más antiguas suelen tener valor y ambiente histórico. Utilizar estas estaciones puede convertirse en una oportunidad para visitar lugares interesantes dentro de tu plan de viaje.
  • Una noche en tren, además de dejar libres las horas del día para hacer cosas más interesantes, es una buena forma de reducir tus gastos de hotel. Además, si viajas en coche-cama, dormirás bastante bien. Seguramente mejor que en un autobús-cama.
  • Algunas rutas están cubiertas por trenes de lujo, esta es sin duda una experiencia que hay que probar al menos una vez en la vida.

Las Desventajas de Viajar en Tren

  • Cuanto mayor sea la distancia, más se alarga el viaje en tren. Si la distancia es bastante considerable, el viaje requerirá demasiado tiempo. Por eso a veces viajar en avión es una mejor opción, aunque sea más costoso.
  • La conexión con el medio de transporte que le sigue al tren debe planificarse con sumo cuidado. Aunque los horarios de tren suelen ser fijos, es posible que se produzcan retrasos y cancelaciones por diversos motivos. Otro aspecto a tener en cuenta es la ubicación de la estación de la que sale o llega el tren. En algunas ciudades y localidades hay más de una estación de tren, y esto puede causar confusión.
  • Una de las quejas más comunes sobre los trenes que cubren ciertas rutas tienen que ver con la limpieza. Se refieren sobre todo a las clases de tren más baratas y a la limpieza de los baños.
  • En algunos de los trayectos de tren, las paradas no siempre se anuncian o se indican claramente. Las pantallas electrónicas resolverían fácilmente este problema, pero no siempre están presentes. Por eso, asegúrate de rastrear tu parada con el GPS o, si puedes, pregunta al conductor.

Der Service, der Ablauf und auch der Fahrkomfort waren exzellent. Ein Punkt Abzug gibt es dann leider doch: die Scheiben sind saudreckig. Klingt erstmal banal, doch ich wollte gerne etwas von der Landschaft unterwegs sehen und das ein oder oder Foto zur Erinnerung machen. War natürlich nicht möglich. Wer allerdings auf die Sicht keinen Wert legt, ist mit der Zugfahrt bestens bedient. Daumen hoch

Hotel is value for money. However, was charged RM20 for a lost hotel room card key which I have never encountered before at any other hotel. This made a dent on the otherwise pleasant experience staying there.

the distance for seating no. 14 & 15 which facing each other is too near. Passenger cannot stretch their leg as it will touch the passenger's leg who sitting opposite. this make passenger's leg numb as the leg maintain the same position for long time.

The waiting area in Butterworth is too hot. It should be air conditioned as we have to wait at least half an hour or more for the comfort of the passengers. Furthermore, announcements are not clear and not understood. Too crowded as incoming and outgoing are squeezed in the same room. Improvements should be made asap.

There is no concept of queueing or looking after oku passengers. My mother was on a cane due to bad back and knee injuries. She is 68 years old..and the staff watched as young men and women pushed past her to get to the lift...and all the seats for waiting were taken up. We wanted to go by train for travels, but she won't know because she doesn't trust KTM to look after people with disabilities.

Train was comfortable enough...however, the aircon was on so high...we needed to use clothing as blankets. Also the space to store luggage was too limited. One last thing, the food carriage was woefully understocked. Over all though, everyone was very friendly and helpful.

Train from Butterworth to KL. Comfortable, fast service. Not sure if Platinum service is living up to expectations as yet in this post-COVID time given the number of stops. However the train is clean, and comfortable. Just make sure you clarify the direction of travel when selecting your seats as the seats are fixed if you are like me and don't like a rearward facing seat it may be challenging.

The coach was older than the last time l rode. The cafe was not functional, they only hv 3 in 1 nescafe & no cold drink. Only nasi dagang & nasi tomato. No sandwich, no buns, no maggi. Waste to hv to staff only serving those items. I hope KTM improve on this aspect. Train ride in Thailand & Indonesia is much more fulfilling. Should hv separate surau for male & female.

I had a great train ride. I would do it again. As a tourist from Australia, I was unsure where the train ride started from not realising there was a atation called a KL. But than again, maybe I was just a silly tourist. Keep up the great work!

First class.. The seats are comfy. The information is clear and clearly shown on the screen. There are toilet for OKU too. Even a prayer room. But no one is operating the kitchen which is kind of waste. Overall, my trip was an unforgettable one. I wish i could ride again. ❤️

Pleasant ride! The train was nearly on time, approx. five minutes late. The staff was very nice, we got a complementary snack on board. Don't forget to bring a jacket or jumper, ac works well!
