Lo mejor de viajar en autobús es que puedes hacer que el viaje se adapte a tus necesidades en términos de comodidad y privacidad. Las distintas clases de autobuses responden a las diferentes necesidades de los viajeros. Los autobuses de clase estándar suelen ser los más baratos. Se les conoce como autobuses locales, exprés u ordinarios. Son una buena opción para viajes cortos. Los autobuses-cama o VIP son ideales tanto para viajes largos como para viajes nocturnos. Suelen tener literas o asientos que son anchos, blandos y reclinables, y a veces se ofrecen masajes incluidos, mantas, refrescos y aperitivos, o comidas más abundantes, bien sea a bordo del autobús o durante las paradas para ir al baño o reabastecer el combustible. Viajar en un autobús nocturno te permite ahorrar el precio de una habitación de hotel. Sin embargo, para que el trayecto sea lo más cómodo posible, hay que elegir bien la clase del autobús. Para algunos viajes, aunque sean más cortos, vale la pena invertir un poco más de dinero y comprar un billete de autobús VIP, ya que a veces estos emplean la mitad del tiempo que tardaría un autobús normal para llegar al mismo destino.

Las Ventajas de Viajar en Autobús
- El autobús es la mejor opción para llegar a lugares a los que no llega el tren o el avión. La red de autobuses cubre prácticamente todo el país, y a menudo las rutas han estado bien establecidas desde hace tiempo.
- A diferencia de los viajes en avión o en tren, cuando se viaja en autobús no es necesario llegar a la estación con mucha anticipación. El check-in, incluso para las rutas internacionales, no toma mucho tiempo. Los límites de equipaje suelen ser bastante convenientes para el viajero, y la tarifa por equipaje extra, si hay límites establecidos, generalmente no es muy alta.
- Los billetes de autobús casi siempre son más económicos que los de avión o tren rápido. Los diferentes tipos de autobús se adaptan a todos los bolsillos. Los autobuses estándar, que son más baratos, pueden ser un poco lentos y no brindar el máximo confort, pero en todo caso son aceptables y te llevarán a tu destino. Para los trayectos más largos, los autobuses casi siempre tienen baño o, si no, hacen paradas para ir al baño, y el precio suele incluir aperitivos, agua y, a veces, artículos de aseo y mantas.
- Si estás dispuesto a pagar más, hay autobuses VIP que tienen asientos parecidos a los de la clase business de un avión: asientos reclinables, anchos y blandos. A menudo, las mantas están incluidas, hay menos pasajeros y muchas otras ventajas que harán de tu viaje una experiencia placentera.
Desventajas de los Viajes en Autobús
- Las nuevas terminales interurbanas de autobuses suelen estar fuera de la ciudad, cerca de grandes autopistas, para evitar la congestión urbana. Esto puede crear dificultades para los viajeros. Llegar a una terminal de este tipo puede ser problemático, ya que en algunas terminales hay restricciones en cuanto a los tipos vehículos que pueden entrar, y hay que utilizar transportistas especiales para llegar allí. Esto podría acarrear mayores costos si los precios están inflados. Calcula tiempo extra si viajas en horas punta, especialmente si no estás familiarizado con la situación del tráfico local.
- Los autobuses son probablemente el medio de transporte que menos se ajusta a los horarios previstos, comparado a los trenes y a los aviones. Los autobuses dependen en gran medida de la situación de las carreteras, que a veces es impredecible (accidentes, obras, desvíos, etc.). Esto ocurre sobre todo los fines de semana, en temporada alta y fiestas nacionales. Tenlo en cuenta y no planifiques conexiones demasiado apretadas.
- Para viajar en determinadas rutas o durante los periodos más concurridos es recomendable reservar con anticipación. Recuerda que no siempre es posible llegar a la estación y subirse al próximo autobús: puede que los billetes estén agotados, así que organiza tu viaje con tiempo.

It was not a direct bus. Bus driver was friendly process was organised with passports. Bus seats were not comfortable, charging ports were in overhead cabins which very small and cramped. Tickets were for a direct trip but we had to change busses at Belgrade which was confusing and a nuisance.

It's a strange experiment. We got where we wanted to. The organising side of the travel is a bit strange. There was no information about the bus changes in Belgrade. Our seats were taken, but we could sit to another place. They took our ID in Thessaloniki and we didn't get them back until we went through Macedonia.

It's a strange experiment. We got where we wanted to. The trip from Belgrade to Thessaloniki is much more confortable than to Belgrade. There was no previous information about that we need to change busses in Belgrade. They took our luggages and left without any word what will happen. After that we got a child next to us and the organiser of the trip said : Go with him!" After that we waited 45 minutes next to nothing with that child. We got where we wanted to, but be prepared that noone will speak proper English, you need to change to a nother bus in Belgrade and they automaticaly do everything even without your knowledge.

Buses late, drivers rude. The trip from Belgrad to Budapest. The bus drivers were rude between Athens and Belgrad, didn't explain properly how late we would be or how it would be compensated. Stopped for many long breaks even though we were very late.

No amenities for long ride, tiny, refuse letting you have your carry-on with you. It was pleasantly cool at night. Tiny seats.My knees kept touching the seat in front of me. The person beside me and I couldn't put our arms by our sides or they'd press together. Very tight space. Has wifi, but bad. No power for charging items. At least not in the seat areas. You have to go into the overhead luggage storage.. plugs too far back to reach, behind all luggage so are inaccessible, overhead space has nothing to keep things from sliding around if you could get to them. No A/C at seats. No seat-back tables and the plastic net-style holders for things were broken. No toilet (was used as carry-on storage) They would not allow people to have their carry-on with them "for safety". Not between your feet, not under the seat in front of you. "For safety" you had to put all of your carry-on bags into overhead or toilet-closet.. but you could hold all items from the bag in your laps. Driver & co-worker smoked on the bus as we traveled.

Reasonable 12 Hour Ride from Belgrade to Thessaloniki. The bus itself was reasonably nice and comfortable. The onboard restroom was being used as a storage room, but there were frequent enough stops for restroom breaks. Absolutely DID NOT LIKE the fact that the bus driver and the assistant were both SMOKING during the drive. As non-smokers, we are allergic to cigarette smoke and we had no way of opening a window. Just had to deal with it. Terrible!! Further, while we sat in the bus during restroom breaks, several other passengers were smoking outside right by the bus door so cigarette smoke was coming in to the bus.

Location Challenged. Belgrade uses a common bus station for all departures so I knew where this bus left from. But GetbyBus doesn’t include this information. After an overnight trip, I wasn’t fully prepared to realize where I needed to get back to as Athens has many bus stations and the bus company has their own corner they leave from. This is more a problem with GetByBus than with the bus company.

Thessaloniki to Belgrade. The drivers were polite and friendly, they handled all the border control passports and made plenty of rest stops. They also spoke good English to help us understand what was going on. We did not know we had an allocated seat and got told half way through we were sat in the wrong place and had to move. It would have been good to be clear about this by writing the seat on the ticket. This was not a big problem at all.

Value for money. Frequent stops made for a more comfortable trip. Pleasant bus drivers. No delays. We would travel again with the company. There were no night lights in the coach. The minibus for the Budapest to Belgrade section was uncomfortable.

Horrible buss experience. Rude staff, no working AC, we were left at the side walk as the bus drove away for 30 minutes with no information, the bus smelled lire cigarettes and the chauffeur even smoked on the bus at at least one moment.

Unprofessional, rude communication and driving, I’m angry and disappointed. the coffee was decent. the lack of cautious driving, no English speaking staff, changed the departure time without telling me either on email or phone and when I called them they were insanely rude and unhelpful, overpriced for an experience that flew me back to socialism where nothing worked at all.

Everything was on time. The crew was polite. Regular breaks for toilette and food. No sound from the TV, just greek subtitles. Wlan. Seats not very comfortable. The bus was quite noisy, especially the aircondition made a very anoying noise. The bus was not fully booked, they seperated the empty seats in the back with a curtain, so it was not possible to spread out in the bus to have more space. The tv was on the whole time, mainly violent movies.

Autobus bi morao biti udobniji za ovako dugo putovanje, s više prostora između sjedala. Vozači su uglavnom profesionalno vozili. Stajanje je bilo taman svaka cca 2 sata. Autobus ima wi fi te je moguće i puniti mobilne uređaje. Podlužuje se kava, čaj, keksići. Vozači su pušili u autobusu. Više manje konstantno. Filmovi koji su se puštali nisu bili primjereni. Trebalo bi puštati komedije, a ne filmove s nasiljem posebno jer je među putnicima bilo i djece.

Autobus bi morao biti udobniji za ovako dugo putovanje, s više prostora između sjedala. Vozači profesionalno voze. Stajanje je cca svaka 2 sata te se vozači mijenjaju u vožnji. Autobus ima wi fi te se mogu puniti mobiteli. Poslužuju se kava, čaj i keksi. Vozači su konstantno pušili tokom vožnje. Cijelo putovanje su se puštali filmovi s neprimjerenim sadržajem (uglavnom puni nasilja, a među putnicima je bilo djece).

Value for money is rather ok - rude drivers. The timing of arrival was respected. Very old bus, not comfortable at all if you need to sleep Drivers will smoke in the car, they also got upset because someone change seat (as 2 seats were available at that moment, which is more convenient.).

bon voyage. Le voyage sest bien déroulé, départ et arrivée à l'heure. Les toilettes a bords sont fermés donc des pauses régulières ont été effectuées à de bons intevalles. Des prises fonctionnaient, Je n'ai pas essayé le wifi.

Sehr pünktliche Ankunft. Ich bin von Belgrad nach Thessaloniki gefahren, der Bus hatte Wlan und kam pünktlich an. Die Haltestelle war in Thessaloniki an einer Kreuzung ohne nennenswerte ÖPNV Anbindung. Die Angestellten waren unhöflich und das Klo war als Vorratskammer umfunktioniert und nicht zu benutzen.

Jan Moravec. Jedno z nejhorších cestování všech dob. Plný neklimatizovaný autobus, kde bylo rozpálené úplně všechno. Paní Uvadecka byla dosti asertivní, tančila s zpívala si. Jejím vrcholem však bylo rozsazení v 22:30 když se všichni chystali na spánek, tak sesadila všechny tak k sobě aby se nikdo neměl jediné volné místo vedle sebe a tak se nevyspal. Jako úsměvný vrchol, pak jen když v Belehradě vystoupila ve 4:00 většina cestujících a oni jako vynalézavý obchodníci vymysleli nás zbytek, co měl jízdenky do Budapesti, dát do malého Transitu a autobus zůstal v Belehradě a opět se nikdo nevyspal.
