Bangkok to Koh Lanta Destination Reviews

AP
Very average vip paid but before surat thani ejected all 3 buses left Bangkok in a sorting area for different destinations waiting more than 1h30 then rotten van for so-called lanta who left without 3 suitcases left on the sidewalk we had to stop ........ arrived at krabis again in the middle of nothing change of van with obligation to pay 200 baths per person to take us to the hotel obviously not interesting for those who are close to this city ....

Ride was actually 21h long, bc they work with another company for the last bit, and they won’t wait for you if your bus happen to be late.

I have taken many bus trips across Thailand and they have all been very good, and I also accept that due to Covid select routes and or times have changed due to lack of demand, but what is not really acceptable is that a bus trip that should take and is advertised at around 15 hours(still longer then it used to BTW), now takes more then 20, and apparently this is the time it takes now, for some reason the listing has not been updated, nor does it show any connections (I had to take 4 to get to my destination, There was also NO water or snack provided on the Bus, this is the norm for long distance coaches, they usually provide a small bottle water and a little biscuit or cake, we had 1 x 30 minute stop around 6 hours in where we could eat/bathroom stop etc, the first change over was around 11 hours but there was nowhere to buy something to eat, no big deal but we hung around for about 45 minutes before being driven to the next stop and then dropped off, was able to buy something at the supermarket, but then had to wait 2hours for a connection to another bus station, wait there for another hour before ANOTHER bus connection, then get dropped off at the port or pay another 200Baht to be driven 3km by the bus to my hotel, I have done this route in the past, and it has NEVER been so long or confusing, I was driven half way down the opposite side of the country before being driven BACK across it, anyone taking a Bangkok to Koh Lanta Bus, DO NOT DO IT!!! instead get a Bangkok to Krabi Bus station (11hrs average depending on the company) and then buy a Krabi to Koh Lanta bus (2Hrs) it will probably save 6-12 hours in transfers and wait times at the current travel times, I will keep bussing it because I know that not all companies are operating at this level, but just fair warning to others, Montanatip probably best to stay away from unless the route is Direct (Probably best to check as well)
