- Bus is the best choice to get to destinations that are not connected by rail or planes. The network of buses often covers almost the whole country, and their routes are well and long-established.
- Opposite to air travel and sometimes rail travel, taking a bus does not require arriving at the bus station much in advance. Check-in, even on international routes, does not take much time. Luggage allowances are usually very traveller-friendly, and the fee for extra luggage, if limits are set, is normally not very high.
- Bus tickets can be more affordable compared to air or fast train tickets. There is always a choice of ticket classes for all pockets. Cheaper standard options may be a bit slow and do not offer top comfort, but anyway acceptable and bring you to your destination. On longer routes, toilets or toilet stops as well as snacks, water, and sometimes toiletries and blankets are almost always included in the price.
- If you are ready to spend more, some VIP coaches offer seating comparable to business class on a plane with wide soft reclining seats, blankets, fewer passengers, and many other perks to make your trip a pleasant journey.
Cons of Bus Travel
- Newer intercity bus terminals are very often located out of the city close to bigger highways to allow buses to avoid city congestion. Unfortunately, it may create extra challenges for travellers, too. Getting to such a terminal may be a problem as in some destinations there are restrictions on vehicles allowed to enter the terminal, and you will have to use special carriers to get there. This results in higher costs as prices may be inflated. Also do calculate extra time if you are travelling during rush hours, especially if you are not familiar with the traffic situation at your starting point.
- Buses are probably the means of transport which runs out of schedule more often than trains or planes. They are heavily dependent on the road situation which sometimes can be unpredictable – accidents, road construction works, detours, etc. This is especially true for travels during weekends, high season, or national holidays. Do keep this in mind and do not plan tight connections.
- Travelling on certain routes or during the most popular periods may require advanced booking. Bear in mind that it is not always possible to show up at the bus station and hop on the next bus – tickets may well be all sold out, so organize your trip accordingly.

No qr codes or anything else on the ticket so the busdriver could scan our tickets. Luckily he was so nice that he still took us with him! Otherwise we would have missed our plane. We had no Informations about the tarragona bus station (gates.). Hope you‘ll fix that anytime soon because i dont think that we‘re the only ones who witness this procedure.

The bus stop at Barcelona airport needs a clear sign. sign as lots of people confused, I was too. A. A Plana bus arrived before my bus at 22 h. The driver was great he helped at least 3 people, listened to them and me( I can't really speak Spanish and the other 2 travellers did not). He got us on the right bus, looked up information etc. He was practical and kind. More like him. The driver on the journey was alright but not as friendly. Feeling confused when I could not fine the bus stop. Stressful. The journey, safety and the coach were good.

Charged again for ticket because Airplane was late. We had purchased Two tickets online from Barcelona Airport to Tarragona with BusPlana. Our flight was delayed and the Bus driver would not accept our tickets even though it states that they are valid until Midnight even if your flight is delayed. We had to pay 31.90 Euros to get on the bus at 20.02 .

It was very hard to communicate with the driver in English, but this is something to be expected. Although I can understand some Spanish, for practical issues, I cannot speak it, so I talked to him in English. The problem is that he addressed me with an attitude, saying, in Spanish, "I'm not English, but Spanish". This is unacceptable for someone offering services to foreign tourists also.

BUS DRIVER SAID MY TICKET WAS INVALID. The driver let me on and took me there on time. I bought this ticket online and went to the correct place. However, the driver said my ticket was invalid. I was very upset and almost having a panic attack, and thankfully a young Spanish lady spoke to the driver and pointed something out on my ticket and I was allowed on the bus. When I got off the driver told me again that the ticket was invalid. I immediately emailed the company to ask how this could have possibly happened- this is something that cause someone to miss their flight! I received no reply. Would never use this company again. Buy at the station!

Problem with the printed ticket. The driver didn't accept the printed tickets. We had to wait his other collegue driver so he could print a specific ticket from the one i gave him. Very stressful when you don't speak spanish and dont understand whats going on.

Value for the money. Once you manage to get on the bus, the ride is smooth and comfortable. There were two buses going to Barcelona airport at the same time but the signage was confusing and the drivers kept directing me to the other bus for no apparent reason.

Voyage très désagréable. Jai réservé un billet sur internet comme je les déjà fait numéro de billet 10496417. Le chauffeur ma dit que ce n'était pas le billet il n'était pas valable alors que j'avais mon numéro de réservation il voulais que je descend du bus si je n'acheter pas un autre billet alors que j'avais mon numéro de réservation il ne voulait pas comprendre il ses mis en colère je suis handicapé jai eu peur arrivé a Salou il ma fait descendre pour que je reprenne un autre ticket ou il me laisser a Salou alors que je devais prendre un vole a Barcelone jai dut payer un autre billet de 18,60 € numéro de billet 353567 ou il me faisait descendre je lui est dit que pour l'aller j'avais pris mon billet sur internet je n'avais pas eu de problème il ne voulait rien savoir et voulait que je paye en liquide je n'est pas voulu et de peur jai étais obligé de payer deux fois quand il ma fait descendre a Salou au guichet. J'ai passé un très mauvais voyage étant handicapé je demande le remboursement de mon ticket.

Nicht gut organisiert betreffend Plattform des abfahrenden Busses. Ich habe wie auf dem vor Ort angezeigten Monitor gesehen, dass mein Bus nach Tarragona auf Plattform 7 bis 12 abfahren soll. Habe mich bei 9 hingestellt damit ich alle diese Plattformen 7 bis 12 im Blick habe und zusätzlich habe ich auf der Plattform 13 noch einen Busangestellten gefragt, wo mein Bus nach Tarragona fahren würde. Er 7 bis 12. Leider kam mein Bus (12:50h) nie auf den ich bereits 1h gewartet habe ( Landung 11:15 aus Zürich am 11.10.14) . Die Plattform 14 war durch den Ticket-Bus auf 13 verdeckt. So habe ich nochmals 65 min gewartet auf den nächsten Bus um 13:55, auch diesen habe ich nicht gesehen, er kam auch auf dem 14!!! Irgendwie hat jemand mitbekommen und mir gerufen. Ich sofort dorthin, der Bus Tarragona stand auf 14 und wollte schon losfahren. Hat mich aber doch noch eingeladen. In Tarragona hat mein Verwandter aber wie eigentlich abgemacht ( ohne Natel, dieses wurde ihm vor kurzem gestohlen) um 13:50h auf mich gewartet. Er hat noch bis 14:50h gewartet und ist dann. Beim herunterfahren hatten sehr viel Problemen mit dem Chauffeur. Im nächsten Bus setzte sich der Chauffeur ein mussten aber 4 Euro nachbezahlen. Rückreise war gut. Die Sachen mit dem Chauffeur der uns nur abgeputzt hat und wir ausstiegen und den nächsten bus nahmen.

caro y único, no te qued alternativa. da igual si lo compras en ésta página o en la oficial que te cuesta igual, en ésta mejor ya que te venden el ticket para el mismo día y la oficial no, así que mejor ésta por el mismo precio, la cosa es que los precios son carísimos y tienes la posibilidad de coger el tren y hacer transbordo y tardar 1 o 2 horas más si te lo puedes permitir, te ahorras la mitad pero cojo el bus por que los viajes son cansados. no hay descuento ni para discapacitados, ni minusvlálidos, ni nada de nada.

Molt bé els conductors, no tant la informació. Llame el dia anterior para informarme de si tenia que imprimir el billete (ya que no disponia de impresora) me dijeron que podia ir con el movil sin problema. Mi sorpresa al llegar al autobús, el conductor me dijo que necesitava el billete impreso. Por suerte tanto al ir como al venir los dos conductores fueron muy amables y lo solucionamos.
