Sapa Ethnic was operated by Sao Viet. The bus was 15 mins late (that's fine, there is an office where you can wait in Hanoi), but we arrived 1 hour later in Sapa (I guess because they made several stops so others could board and get off, but also for dropping off / collecting packages for delivery which was a bit annoying).

Bus kam eine Stunde zu spät. Englisch sprach hier niemand. Unsere Taschen wurden zwischendurch mehrfach aus dem Gepäckfach gerissen und waren nachher nicht nur schmutzig, sondern auch kaputt. Das ganze, weil unzählige Kartons mit genommen wurden. Außerdem wurden scheinbar mehr Tickets als vorhandene Plätze verkauft und nachher noch bar abkassiert (bezweifle, ob das alles offiziell lief?). Es lagen überall im Gang Leute, weil einfach zu wenig Betten vorhanden waren

Der Bus war sauber und bequem. Der Busfahrer ist sehr gut gefahren. Wir haben eine längere Pause gemacht. Im Bus gab es eine Toilette aber leider kein Toilettenpapier und keine Möglichkeit die Hände zu waschen.
Wir kamen mit 30 minütiger Verspätung an.

אני מטיילת 6 חודשים כבר הייתי בלא מעט הסעות כאלו, חוויה כל כך נוראית לא הייתה לי מעולם, הצוות היה גס רוח לאורך כל הנסיעה. איבדו לי תיק ולא היה עם מי לדבר.. התייחסו אלינו כמו לבהמות שמובילים, היה נורא. בנוסף התעוררתי עם דלקת בעין מהשמיכות שחילקו לנו. ממש לא ממליצה לסגור עם חברה זו

Die Fahrt ging wirklich fix und das Personal war nett! Allerdings sind die Kabinen für eine Person mit 1,85m einfach zu kurz. Schlaf war dadurch nur schwer zu bekommen.

Just keep your Whatsapp on and the staff will reply you shortly in few minutes for any questions you asking. The booking process is fast and you may made payment through online. The service is trustworthy. Just inform the staff upon arrival, and the staff will tell you roughly arrival time for the pick-up. The staff will also give a very clear instruction on the pick up point. The driver is very professional and entertaining. We had a very good ride throughout the journey. This service is very convenient. Sure will recommend you to use their service

The bus picked us up 3 hours late. The ticket office didn't tell us the time so we had to keep waiting. Finally we arrived in Luang Prabang at 9pm. There was no proper guidance when changing buses, crossing the border, and stopping at rest areas. Maybe it would be wise to take the train from Muang Xai. Thanks to the two drivers who drove safely.

1 Stunde verspätet abgefahren. Chaos beim Check in. Gepäck auf dem Bus Dach transportiert. Drei Leute Personal vorne. Ganze Nacht Musik, Telefonklingeln und laute Unterhaltungen. Schlafen unmöglich in den vorderen Reihen. Nie mehr wieder!!!

We got a pdf file via email with coordinates to pick us up. We waited 2,5h overtime but the bus do not stay there. We had to communicate via WhatsApp, but this person needs to much time for answering and we thought we will miss our bus. At least the office send us a taxi (they only write they will send us a car) and we got the bus which was a ready on the way to sapa.
This was a really bad experience but not every night bus is like this. You should book the bus over hostel.

Pick up and drop off times were COMPLETELY wrong from Ha Giang to Halong Bay. Pick up was one and a half hour later. Drop off was supposed to be at 23:30 but we arrived at 4:00AM.

The toilet was dirty and smelly. We were seated close to the toilet and it was an awful trip, every time someone would open the toilet door there would be an horrible smell for a lot of time. We took the same company to get to Sa Pa and was ok, but to go back to Hanoi the bus was older and there wasn’t WiFi. Plus they drive like crazy, it’s really hard to sleep

Left 45min late from Sapa. I booked with Sapa ethnic travel but it was operated by SaoViet. The bus was comfy (VIP cabin) but broke down on the highway about 1h before reaching Hanoi. The crew didn’t speak English and couldn’t update us on what was happening. Got pieces of info here and there but not much. After 45min another bus picked us up and we had to share cabins as that bus was already occupied. Eventually arrived at Hanoi 2.5h late. I asked for a financial compensation but so far no feedback.

The driver was not very good, he made sudden movements continuously and honked his horn every minute. This didn't let us rest too well.
The USB not woks.
On the other hand, the bus left on time (it even waited at the exact time for us) and we arrived 45 minutes earlier than expected in Hanoi.

Wir sind mit dem Nachtbus von Halong nach Sapa gefahren und haben die Tickets via 12goAsia bei Sapa Ethnic Travel gebucht. Nachdem ich vorherige Reviews gelesen hatte, war es nicht ganz so schlimm, da wir schon auf das Schlimmste eingestellt waren. Die wichtigsten Infos aus unserer Erfahrung. Der Bus war ausgebucht, aber es lagen keine Menschen im Gang. Der Bus war voller Mücken (Spray einpacken!). Es wird mehrfach auf dem Weg angehalten, offizielle Pausen gibt es aber nicht. An WC Stops nicht zu denken bei der 8h Fahrt. Ein WC an Board gab es auch nicht. Der Fahrer spricht natürlich kein Englisch, eigentlich keiner an Board. Die Touristen wurden vom Fahrer angeschrien sich nach hinten auf Sammelplätze (5 nebeneinander und übereinander) zu legen. Man darf den Platz also nicht wählen. Die guten Plätze sind einheimischen Mitfahrern vorbehalten. Platz für Gepäck ist im Bus (auch unten wenig), da tausend andere Sachen transportiert werden (zB Motorrad- wtf). Kleineres Gepäck steht also oft im Gang herum. In Lao Cai wird man dann in einen Mini Van (überfüllt) bis nach Sapa umgeladen. Für 38 Euro für 2 Tickets gar nicht mal die beste Erfahrung gewesen. Das Private Car aus Halong kostet im Vergleich 170USD. Sollte man sich gut überlegen ;-) die Abholstation in Halong ist übrigens nicht in der Bay Chai Bus Station, sondern quasi davor. Schräg gegenüber von dem Mitsubishi Laden. Mussten wir aber auch selbst rausfinden. Unser Bus hatte "nur" 30min Verspätung bei Abholung. Und 1.5h bei Ankunft. Die Zeiten sind also nicht soooo genau zu verstehen.

It is a small and old 15 seat van but the driver put 20 people and alot of goods and luggages in the van. He is not nice and speaks foul language on the phone the whole time. It is quite a bad experience trip from Sapa to Bac Hội An.

When we arrived to the ferry terminal before cat ba island, our bus driver just left us there. We paid to be taken all the way to cat ba town. There were only two of us left for this part of the journey so I assume this is why (they decided it wasn’t worth their time), but nonetheless felt ripped off. The driver kind of laughed at me when I said he needed to take us there because that’s what we paid for (google translate). Otherwise the bus was comfortable and left on time.

Driver was driving very fast through the bumpy roads and I was flying through the cabin sometimes. We had to be there 30 min before departure, but when we got there 30min before we had to hurry because they wanted to leave already.

The bus was comfortable, but ageing - not as modern as other bus lines. The driver was friendly and we arrived on time at the airport. I was disappointed as the ISB charger was not working (don’t think k any in the bus were). Our flight boarding passes are on our phones, and our ride from Sapa 6 hours so we could not use our phones for the trip as we could not charge them. Made for a long boring trip. I am not sure why we had to meet at Hey Hotel office when we could have just gone to where the bus was - the staff there were just sitting around on their phones, joking and laughing and actually did nothing with us - we got there a little before we had too and they were grumpy with us and told us to come back at 9:30 (it was 9:15).

We booked a vip sleeper bus and we were put into a tiny bed sleeper bus where they had kicked a small kid out of one of the beds so another person could sleep and he was sleeping on the floor and it took twice as long because we had to stop at 15 different places because they were doing deliveries to shops

I did not like the way the bus smell and when we were 2h late, I already told my family to come and pick me up at the designated time.
Being late is fine. Happens every now and then. I would just appreciate for the drivers and employees to inform the people on the bus about the delay and let them know what time they arrive.

Overall not great, broken seats that force you to stay laid, cushion that doesn't stick in place, curtains torns... Staff does the very minimum and explain nothing so quite confusing, almost 4 hours without a stop...

bus itself was comfy and clean but the meeting place was a bit unorganised. some people that were waiting got told to get on a bus at 9pm instead of the 21:30 that we all booked. the drive took a lot less time then it said so we actually arrived at 4am instead which was an issue for us.

Not an organized company. If you’re a foreigner I would pick another company. Not bad but definitely more for the locals

It made me very anxious to have to wait for confirmation about the ticket instead of getting it right away. The bus was crowded and the seat/beds were small and narrow, but they fit me fine and the price was great.

The cabins were so nice! But the pickup point is incorrect it was down the road so we nearly missed it.
They over booked the bus so said we had to share (we didn’t have to in the end) we also arrived 2 and a half hours early and they didn’t drop us at the right location so we were put in a dangerous situation with the Taxi drivers.
The bus was good condition but we were put in a dangerous situation. The taxis drivers swarmed us where we were dropped & threatened to beat up our grab diver!

Lost my shoe that was attached to my bag in the hold. Opened everyones curtain to let them know of bus stopping which I didnt think was necessary
